❝A cat needs its five claws to guard itself and its clan, let them each be a blade and pray they do not turn upon you.❞

In the aftermath of the gathering, the clans send patrols to ensure no cat makes efforts to claim the now holy ground - the place their clans convene once every other fullmoon in peace. On one such occurrence the five clans find themselves all present to hear soft mewling, upon searching they find five kittens crying in the hollow that was once home to the Colony leader Fray before the civil war that formed ShadowClan and ThunderClan. The kits have a strange miasma of scents: a mix of each clan and several different cats with no real way to determine who came from where.
A brief discussion reveals that each clan had a cat suddenly vanish - five missing cats and five kits found reeking of their scents and their clans. It did not take long to determine these kits were born of a cross clan affair, though of what kind it wasn't clear. All that was clear was the five parents were gone, the kits needed warmth and food and each clan had a claim to them. In the end the leaders decide to each take a kit, separating the siblings for a chance at compromise and peace.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a plot litter for the clans as a whole, the five kits chosen will play significant parts in how crossclan cats and their struggles are played going forward as well as putting more emphasis on the gifts of StarClan and curses bestowed by the Dark Forest. We ask you do not enter for a kit if you can not commit to keeping them longterm (inactivity gaps are fine within reason so long as the OC is not dropped/abandoned. We ask they remain on their clan census/prefix claim list.)

RULES & REQUIREMENTS

Please verify names are not taken on the PREFIX CLAIM prior to committing to an app! You should reserve the name you pick just in case until kits are chosen!

The parents are gone, what happened to them, where did they go...its something that will never be resolved. Sometimes life gives you mysteries without any closure.
This is not a FCFS (first come, first serve) litter - they will be chosen properly through fair assessment or which works best and creativity.
Activity requirements are just remain on the census/your name claimed! If you must drop your kit please contact staff so we can rehome them!
To the right are how the clan leaders will handle their chosen kit - please respect their IC stance when making your apps. We encourage you to make multiple or variations of an app and to select more than one clan as your preference to join! The more flexible options will make narrowing down choices easier!
Due to the nature of the kits parentage (several parents in a polyamory relationship) they do not have set genetics and this is a free-for-all! Please keep in mind these kits are siblings though!
There is no name scheme, however if you look to the right several leaders may insist on naming the kit themselves and have supplied lists. Consult your clan leader of choice for ideas!
You may do whatever kind of plots you like with these kits, while important they are not the main characters of the site and are catalysts for getting some concepts down that have otherwise not been addressed in-character proper. They are still your OCs, have fun with their stories whether they end happily or tragically!

The Fun Part:
The parents (at the very least two of them) had been enticed by the Dark Forest and were cursed with the new LEGACY item.
Four of the kits are twins, then there is the single remaining one. Two kits will have curses, two will have StarClan gifts, a single kit will be granted both.
All of these will be RNG'd, please include in your app your preference (curse or gift) and if you would consent to BOTH if rolled for it. Please note that by applying you are completely at the mercy of the dice Gods and may end up with a cursed kit, do not apply if getting a curse you dislike would make you lose interest!

CLAN LEADER DETAILS

Juniperstar will name the kit, feeling as if she is given a second chance after losing Littlekit during her kitting. She will be honest and upfront with them on their origins and where their siblings are and even encourage them trying to visit if desired.

Sablestar will pass the kit to Timberfrost (the primary caregiver in ShadowClan) and will stake a claim to them by naming them himself from names he would give his own kits. He will not go into detail on their origin if asked.

KIT ✦ An extremely impressionable young kit that takes nearly everything at face value, TBN will be heavily influenced by his peers and adoptive parents/guardians at this age, and develop his opinion of outsiders from there. Will defer more heavily to his clanmates opinions rather than forming his own. Will likely be a goody goody and stay in camp until apprenticed, leaving him unlikely to meet his siblings until he becomes an apprentice.

APPRENTICE ✦ Easily led along by others into apprenticehood, he will likely have to learn the hard way that just because someone says something, it doesn't always mean what they say. Prone to wandering and has a particular fascination with twolegplace, finding it to be far more interesting at times than their own territory. As they potentially learn they have siblings in other clans will likely be less respectful of borders.

WARRIOR ✦ A hopeless romantic who never quite lost his impressionability, TBN will be loyal to his chosen clan but may find himself feeling out of place as he learns his origins. The grass might be greener on the other side, and who's to say one's soulmate isn't also on the other side..?

Since I play Honeyflower in wind I would prefer he end up in any clan EXCEPT for windclan (preference if needed being skyclan > shadow/river/thunder!), otherwise I'm happy to be subjected to the dice gods for clan placement as well as curse and/or blessing or potentially both!

FEAR // SEPERATION - While they don't remember much of the before being found and claimed by ???star, the absense of the little family they had has lead to them being very clingy and nervous about being left alone.
FEAR // BEING OUTCAST - Being a kitten carrying some kind of gift, the lack of knowlege around this as well as a kitten brought in from outside the clan leads to them feeling an outsider even though they grow up alongside the clan.
INSPRIATION // THEIR LEADER/FAMILY - Obviously, having been brought into the clan as an outsider, regardless of the leaders participation in raising them, they will look to them as a source of strength and comfort as well as any foster family they may result in being included as a part of.
INSPRIATION // STARCLAN - Regardless of their gift, a curse or blessing, this kitten will try and stay as a devote believe of Starclan and their leadership, believing if given a gift they were chosen for a good reason or a curse that Starclan will save them in one way or another (Though this faith will waver over time).
INSPRIATION // THEMSELF - Not in a way of self-importance for their gift, but they hold a very stout belief that just surving this long is a gift in and of itself. That their persistence in spite hardship is something to take pride in and a motivator to carry on even in hard times.

Depending on their own gift may skew this curiosity into something more dastardly or dangerous, or in a way to try and help cursed cats find ways to live with their curses (as they would be either ignorant or unknowing to the willing acceptances of curses).

Aspenkit, even early on in her life, is a limber thing. She's almost willowy, in her stature. She's long legged and agile shaped, with a narrow body, long tail, and fur that tufts in every which direction. Early on in her life, she'll look scraggly, almost like a newborn fawn that struggles with her legs. However, as she starts to progress, she'll grow into a near ethereal being. She'll grow into a cat of natural-born grace, gliding rather then walking. Her body is a testament to elegance and agility, her body full of sinewy muscles that aren't extremely obvious beneath soft fur. Her limbs are slender, yet deceptively strong, giving her the ability to leap with silent precision and twist midair with fine control.

Aspenkit will end up a little bit taller then average, but her weight does not compare to some of her broader peers. She'll move more like a wisp of vapor across sun or moon dappled floor, plumed tail held aloft to perfect her balance. She's so well in tune with her body it's nearly unbelievable. This will take many moons for her to perfect, however, and may become someone to fear in the future. She's a creature of wind and shadow, of grace distilled. Of the sighs from the Earth moving treetops and the rains driving the mountains, exterior demeanor calm, cool, and poised.

Her fur is painted in palettes of misty moonlight- pale, silvery-lilac tones, with faint tabby striping that winds and dances across her face, legs, and tail in strokes. It almost appears like dusky shadows drips forward, cowling her muzzle and dripping from her whispers and fur-tufts. Her front legs do not darken like her rear legs, as if they have been more finely dipped in the fog. Her rear legs and tail darken like her muzzle and fur-tufts. Low white markings add what looks like snow to her pelt- stretching up from her muzzle over both eyes, her mane and back, underbelly, front paws, and tail all brushed with white. Her fur, well taken care of, is thick and comfortable, but does drag on her during Greenleaf.

With eyes the color of blue dusk, almost vivid against her nearly soft pink painted tones, they are akin to the way midday coasts over the horizon. Her face is delicately angular, with high cheekbones and almost shaped eyes. Her ears stand tall and finely attuned to the world, giving her a perpetually aware presence. She is born with no physical ailments. Overall, Aspenkit will grow into a graceful she-cat with power in her body, and in her mind.

KIT - FOUNDATIONS. A face found in the wilds, of which stick to her. Curious to no end, but not inherently naïve, a tongue curled but a voice not shy.

-> Curiosity is natural in a kit, but even more-so for Aspenkit. From a young age, she's known for walking around camp and consistently piping up- "What's this?" or "Why does that code exist?". Even to a fault, if there's one thing that Aspenkit want to do, it's to learn about the ways around her. To experience the clan she's come to know and love as family and friends and home, tall towering pines that she believes she was born into. Which, she was, right?

-> Aspenkit's tongue is sharper, even from a young age. She's bold and unafraid to tell you what's on her mind, even if it's slightly negative or rude. She doesn't mean it that way, most of the time, but it sure does come out that way. Kindness isn't lost on her, neither is joy, but she focuses on speaking like a realist, especially as she starts approaching her apprentice age. Seeing in tones of gray becomes harder for her as time goes on.

-> With these two pieces combined, Aspenkit's confidence is wild, nearly out of control. She's unafraid of where she's going, proud of who she is, aware of where she's been. This is not to say she knows about her origins, or the fact she isn't actually of Skyclanner blood- something she'll come to learn as something older then the other four clans- but the fact she grew from the soil and soul of Skyclan like the pine trees did. Like the flowers and the clovers do. She loves the forest and her home, and that builds her confidence and pride all that much more.

APPRENTICE - GROWTH. Curiosity betrays her, and may just take her from her clan- voice still boisterious and eyes still gleaming, setting forth into a land that will turn her into a confident and proud she-cat. Or, maybe take that from her all together.

-> Curiosity still burns strong in Aspenkit, even as a -paw. This theme will carry with her for a long time, asking after questions and chasing something she doesn't even know she's chasing. Like what happened to her parents, or if she had any siblings. She will direct her questions towards other things too. Things that make her better. She trains hard and learns hard, studying the code and her battle/hunting moves with prowess seen in leopards. Aspenpaw will learn to be a strong Skyclan warrior, climbing and hunting amongst the boughs of the forest she loves. They do say that curiosity killed the cat.

-> Her pride and confidence that she learns from a young age still exists in Aspenpaw, but maybe it isn't as pure-hearted anymore. It's almost a hint dangerous, the way that she speaks and moves, acting almost cocky. Learning control over this will be her next test in life. Aspenpaw's confidence should hopefully not unbecome her, else it may lead her into dangerous situations. A mentor that warns her as such, and curbs this issue, will be one that saves her from danger- or heartache.

-> Aspenpaw's tongue grows sharper with each moon she passes as an apprentice. Learning from upper leadership, specifically Hawkstar, she's less kind in her tone and more curt and controlled, sharper fanged but more reserved in each word. This goes hand in hand with her being too confident, and a mentor that may curb these behaviors- the two together will cause scuffles at the border with their 'enemies'.

-> It's during this time as an effective teenager that she begins to see other apprentices in the clan as targets for love. But... there's only one issue. Aspenpaw doesn't necessarily have a good reference for this, besides cats she sees in camp, or other peer-aged cats beginning their own love stories. She didn't have parents to watch exchange words or gifts. She didn't have siblings to scuffle with. This makes her a little rough around the edges in this department.

WARRIOR - ???. This is up to fate: will her origins be revealed, and will it haunt her? Or will it make her stronger, knowing that she has other blood in the world?

-> But did satisfaction bring it back? I'm not 100% how her story will go, when this information will be revealed to her of her true origin, or that the cats around her lied to her for most of her life. (Lying, or just an omission of fact? What makes that lying? Will this allow her to spiral, to shatter and break only to be put back together? Who is she, and why were they split up? Is this even going to happen?)

MENTORSHIP // Aspenkit can easily go down two paths if she is given a strong-willed or weaker-willed mentor. A strong-willed mentor that will curb her confidence and sharp-tongue will make a proud, prowess filled she-cat who's loyal to her clan. A weak-willed mentor may be walked all over by Aspenpaw, leaving in the wake a she-cat who's loyalty wavers and self confidence begins to implode.
