ROLEPLAY DICTIONARY

Welcome to Purrgatory's ROLEPLAY DICTIONARY!
Roleplay can involve a bunch of lingo that you may or may not be familiar with. That's what this guide is for!

ADOPT

May be anything from fully named, designed, and plotted, to a blank slate with a connection to another character (kit, relative, friend, mortal enemy...) Adopts will typically either be FCFS (first come first serve: first person to say 'i want it' get the spot, while stocks last) or require APPLICATIONS.

BACKWRITE

BUMP

FCFS
First come first serve: adopt

HP/SHP

IC

OOC
Out of character: outside the roleplay, player speaking.

OPEN
A thread anyone can respond to.

PAFP
Public after first post: a thread that remains private until one (or more) characters have replied to it, after which it becomes open.

PRIVATE
A thread between specific characters that others aren't meant to respond to.

STORAGE
OOC thread where people post whatever they want to have on hand and in one place: their posting templates, character bios/tags, coding experiments, etc.

TAGS (or BIO)
OOC thread of a character's information, templates, etc.

RTA
Return to activity: thread posted after a character's absence from RP.
