Are you looking to find your OC a sibling, parent, friend, mate etc...? Do you have two cats having kits together and want to find people to play those kits? This board is for doing adoptions for these things! There are a few guidelines below on what is and isn't allowed but overall we allow people to sort and adjust their character's family tree and other relations at their discretion!
When adopting out anything the other player must still CHECK-IN their character before it can be officially made! This is only to ensure the name and appearance doesn't break our loose traditional guidelines! You can read about those details in the TRADITIONAL GUIDELINES thread!

x LITTER RESTRICTIONS
To avoid kit-explosions (too many kits in a clan or messy family trees) we have the following restrictions on litters:
- A litter is max three kittens unless you purchase additional slots up to six with the Litter Blessing Item.
- A cat must wait until their first litter is apprenticed before having another.
- In Leaf-bare the Litter Blessing item is disabled to showcase how uncommon such litters are.
- A cat may only ever have 12 offspring in its life, this includes adoptions. This rule is per cat to take into account breakups/polycules etc... This is to ensure family tree's are not made too large and that the clan always has cats who are not related in it. (As a reminder adoption and blood relatives are considered the same per our rules for shipping.)
- A cat may only nurse up to six kits at a time realistically, if an orphanded kit is placed in the nursery a caregiver who is at this limit may not take them in and they go to another (or NPC caregiver depending).
- A caregiver does not automatically adopt any kit given to them, their role is to take care of them informally as a parental figure but they are not the kits parent unless officially agreed upon by both players.
x APPLICATIONS
- It is encouraged that parent roleplayers ask a staff member to double check their applicant names/genetics just to make sure nothing steps out of line of what our rules dictate!
- A litter may have no more than THREE living kittens at the maximum, additional kitten slots can be purchased in the shop located HERE! This item is unavailable during leafbare.
- Kits adopted from litters may be rehomed at the parents discretion until they become apprentices at which point they belong to the player they are adopted to and can not be rehomed by any means. If a player falls inactive that is unfortunately just part of roleplay, please communicate with your fellow roleplayer on what you'd like done in such circumstances and accept that sometimes people just lose interest in a character or aren't as active as you'd personally like.
- We allow people to have their own adopt rules and requirements as well as private 'family' discords, but please keep these all within our rules and guidelines and remember to be kind!
- We do not REQUIRE you to use realistic genetics for your litters, but if that is something you want or would enjoy then you may ask one of our hobby Geneticists in the Discord for help on figuring that out! Please keep in mind we do this for fun so they may not be 100% accurate to real life genetics!
- BACKWRITTEN LITTERS must still fall under the max 3 kit rule, however they do not need to follow the minimum time between litters rule as that is specifically to avoid too many litters/kits in a clan all at once.
x PREGNANCY & KITTENS
- A cat MUST BE 12 MOONS to become pregnant, resulting in birth no earlier than 14 moons!
- Cats carry their kits for around 63-65 days! (For simple terms in RP we will say 'Two Months!')
- A cat capable of carrying kits will show visible signs at about 2-3 weeks! At 4 weeks they should be moving to the nursery and then a month later from that time they'll have their kits! We ask you to not describe the kitting process/birthing in too heavy detail to avoid crossing our rule on graphic content.
- Kits are allowed to be time-skipped as many moons as their dam is older than 12 to a maximum of 2 Moons and no higher to avoid any strange timeline shenanigans! This will allow players to skip the 'worm' phase where a kitten is just a wriggling little fuzzball unable to speak or do anything of substance!
- Kits are apprenticed at 6 moons, at which the parent can have another litter! There is a 6 month cool down between litters to avoid an excess of kits in the clan and so each litter has their own personal bonding time with the parents!
x SAME SEX COUPLES & THEIR OPTIONS
- Same sex couples have several options if they wish to be parents, we encourage surrogacy plots to help fulfill roles needed for having blood-related kittens! There is also the option of adoption for cats, finding lost litters and coming across abandoned kits or taking in a kitten of a clanmate who passes etc... There are many ways to go about it!
- Unfortunately we do not allow AMAB cats to 'carry' kits as we still roleplay within the realm of semi-realism when it comes to cat anatomy and reproduction.
- We do allow and are happy to have transmasculine characters carry kits and transfeminine ones sire them! This is something trans people do in real life and we have no issue having it translated onto a character! That being said please tag any dysphoric posts relating to these issues with a trigger warning!
- Caregivers take care of all kittens, but do not necessarily adopt any officially unless they state as much otherwise. They can be viewed as a parental figure by the kitten as it grows, but they are not that kittens parent unless agree upon.
