Like a carrion bird, he wanted to scavenge that shiny for himself. To what end, he wasn't quite sure, but sometimes his Clanmates did "ooh" and "aah" over a pretty piece of Twoleg detritus. And maybe something sparkly could be used as entertainment for the kits.
