Frostmoth is a formidable cat. Although he is average in height and weight, there is a look of muscular substance present beneath his shiny black and white fur. His build can likely be attributed to the time he spent overtime hunting for his family in the shipyard, now translated into his strenuous duties at RiverClan deputy. The thickness and sleekness of his coat is most likely thanks to his fishy diet.

Despite its thickness, Frostmoth's coat is made up of sharply contrasting angles of black and white. The left side of his body is largely black, while the right mains majorly white. His plumey tail is all black save for its feathery black tip, and his paws are varyingly socked with white.

At the focal point of his face, Frostmoth has deep blue eyes. They reflect more river water than the ice of his namesake. His white eye is lacking pigment, rimmed in the same color as his ears and nose. Although he is too young to have been very strongly impacted by the white framing of this eye yet, he does suffer from lesser sight in that eye.

Frostmoth has always been a cat of a particularly quiet nature. Some might say that his sister took all of the boldness between them, leaving a dichotomous boisterous and close-kept pair. He very much believes in thinking first and acting later. Every action he does is thought out in detail, which may sometimes lead to a delay or otherwise missed opportunity. It is easy for him to overthink things and become stuck or have a situation become undone because of this as well. However, everything he does is out of good intention (even if done with a touch of frustration) and this is why his thoughtful nature often lends itself to snowballing.

Being well-intentioned and polite does not mean that Frostmoth is by any means a pushover or gullible though. Every word or action is met with a healthy dose of skepticism. He never takes things for face value. From the time that he could remember- but especially since he and Storm arrived at the shipyard- Frostmoth had always had walls between himself and everyone else. He is impersonal at best and stony at worst. He is rarely open with his emotions, and if he is they are often stilted and poorly articulated. His guarded nature has been both a detriment and a help to himself and others on many occasions.

Since becoming deputy, Frostmoth has gained confidence in himself. He tries not to be overbearing or to lord his position over others unless absolutely necessary. He has been more reserved due to being directly spoken over at a council meeting a few moons ago. He resents Pikestar for making him take the reins on many matters. This did not resolve after he exiled Adder for taking a life from Pikestar. Frostmoth remains aggrieved and dislikes the other clans, especially SkyClan as he perceives that they stick their paws where they do not belong.

Frostmoth is the son of two shipyard cats. His father was absent from a young age and is assumed to have died, and his mother left him and his siblings by going with their twolegs when they sold their fishing business and left. He is the oldest of three. His siblings are Stormswirl and Frigidsnap.

Frostmoth and his siblings come from the shipyard. Before they were members of this colony, they were well-fed and pampered shipcats for twolegs who owned a fishing business. However, after the business fell on hard times, the boat and business had to be sold and they could only afford to bring the mother of the three with them. Forced to join the shipyard colony for their own survival, Frostmoth took up taking care of his siblings. Though he remained guarded, they grew close to Willowburn and Smokewreath.

As a result of this, they followed the rest of the shipyard cats after the storm that took out their shelter, ultimately joining RiverClan.
