			 BRIGHTNOSE
✧ Previous names: Brightkit, Brightpaw
✧ Thoughts, "Speech" - #61BD6D #00A885
✧ "A gray striped tabby cat with patches of white on her paws, tail, and face."
Brightnose is a mostly gray she-cat, with lighter fur on one side of her face and darker, swirly stripes along her pelt. She also sports white patches on her face, right ear, chest + belly, tail-tip, and paws. Her eyes are forest green, and her skin is a salmon pink. Her left ear has a couple tears in it and her nose has a small scar, both from an incident that occurred during her apprenticeship.
✧ Though she is sociable, she tends to keep to herself, valuing her alone time when not on patrol or other assigned duties. She enjoys spending her evenings in the corner of camp, catwatching (and sometimes daydreaming), or going out on a solo hunting trip. Due to her curious nature, however, she does have a tendency to listen in on conversations that she's not a part of. This can occasionally lead to trouble, as some things aren't meant for her ears to hear...
Moondew x Shiverstrike | sister to Berrypaw and three others
✧ Acquaintances: Swallowbreeze / Duskpool / Ptarmigankit / Mulberryburst / Tawnybeam
✧ Enemies: rouges in general
✧ Peaceful powerplay allowed, harmful powerplay within limits [ask beforehand]
✧ Born and raised within SkyClan's ranks, Brightnose has grown familiar with the often-harsh life of a warrior. Originally part of a litter of five, three of her siblings had passed from sickness or other health complications before she even opened her eyes. By the time she was two moons old, it was only young Brightkit and her sister, Berrykit.
Brightkit's mother had certainly left room for improvement in her parenting skills; it's not that she was a bad mother, but rather the loss of three kits had clouded her thoughts with grief. Because of this, Brightkit and Berrykit often relied on each other more than their own mother, and the two quickly became an inseparable pair, and a rather rambunctious force to be reckoned with in the nursery.
Not long after being apprenticed, Brightpaw and Berrypaw were among the SkyClan cats who embarked on the great journey to the forest their ancestors had inhabited so many moons ago. It was a long and difficult journey, but they had each other... until the incident. They'd decided to sneak off to shirk their duties and play together, just like old times, but they had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. They'd traversed into the territory of a small band of rogues and were attacked - despite their warrior training, they were smaller and less experienced than their opponents, and Brightpaw couldn't protect her sister the way she'd wanted to. Berrypaw was gravely injured and did not survive, while Brightpaw was scarred along her face and ear from the large gashes she had received.
After the death of her sister, Brightpaw was like an entirely different cat - quiet, lonesome, and distrustful. She didn't want to get close with anycat ever again; if they ended up in danger, would she be able to protect them? She might as well spare herself the suffering. Ironically, despite resenting her mother for being so closed-off, Brightpaw had grown to become just like her.
In the wake of her loneliness, however, Brightpaw found solace in her favorite pastime - hunting. She excelled remarkably at the skill and was eventually named Brightnose in honor of her ability to track prey. Despite this, she still felt she wasn't fully deserving of a warrior name and constantly pushed herself to hone her skills even more. For many moons, she still felt this way a lot of the time - but ever since coming home to the forest, she'd begun talking to her Clanmates more... maybe, just maybe, she could finally make some friends in the Clan she's lived her whole life. It's what Berrypaw would have wanted... right?
As the grief finally becomes easier to manage, Brightnose finds herself actually making friends - it's an odd but certainly welcome feeling to once again have something to lose, and she feels more alive than she has since she was an apprentice. But with this newfound hope and ambition comes its own set of worries. It seems she's gained the approval of Hawkstar herself, and she is now SkyClan's youngest Sun Guard! She's thrilled to have her potential recognized, she really is, but she'd been so used to being a mere shadow trailing behind others, watching silently. Now she feels as though she's been thrust into the spotlight...
