DUSKPOOL
His bulky frame remained still, molten iris watchin' Flowercloud with a calculative flicker within its weary depths. He ain't one to make the first move, not with sparrin'. It ain't his style to surge into things hotheaded and drunk on the thrill of battle when he'd long grown up bein' targeted by upwalkers and mutts alike just itchin' to tear into his hide and string him along like lights on a pole. Some folk might call him a coward, but Duskpool reckons the moons' worth of fightin' ought to be somethin' to account for.

His lips quirked, peerin' at Flowercloud with a molten iris, affection and friendly competition bubblin' beneath his scarred flesh. "Reckon whoever trips the other got braggin' rights, eh?" His lips quirked in muted amusement, mangled ears flickerin'. Nothin' but siblings banteirn' like the good ol' days when Flowercloud was nothin' but a youngster.

His body began circlin' the large molly, shoulders pulled taunt, muscle ripplin' beneath obsidian wool. A tactic to keep the other movin' with observin' the other like a predator trappin' prey. His gaze grew heavy, taunt with the familiar lull of battle, sparrin' or not, Duskpool remained war-torn. And in a flash, the old timer lunged toward Flowercloud, only to feign to the right when his muscled form slammed into Flowercloud head-on in an attempt to knock the molly off balance.

we're only haunted by the things we refuse to accept

  • @flowercloud set before rosebelly's death!
  • DUSKPOOL he/him a storm carved in flesh and smoke, duskpool towers with the bulk of a maine coon and norwegin forest cat. his wooly black pelt bristles with ghost-stripes and scars—old wounds etched like lightning through dusk. one copper eye burns like molten steel and the other a mangled ruin of war. every step is heavy, thunderous—war-born, death-burdened, and unflinchingly alive.

She needed the practice, she told him. For her leg made her wary- her mind circling in anxious manner like vultures and a carcass. It tore its beak into her chest, tore its claws into her side- but duskpool was going to help her. And they'd make fun of it as well.

"Oh yeah," she returned, grin spreading across her maw as if anxiety didn't tear into her body. "I'll be happy for all of Skyclan to know how I beat you, old man," she teased, the plumage of tail behind her taking a slight swing as she quickly noted his circling motion. Her body remained unmoving, a breath taking as she let her body loosen up a bit.

Her gaze narrowed, noticing quickly (17) the way his paws shifted from the feint- and she used his momentum forward against him. As he moved head on, she pivoted to the side on her good leg. Her body quickly reacted and she pulled herself to attempt to use the momentum of moving to the side to barrel into the other warrior and hopefully send them both rolling over each other.

flowercloud - 35 moons - skyclan warrior - mentoring none

there's a beauty in fighting, swallowbreeze thinks, but that's something she won't ever learn to understand. she gave up on the life of defending your clan with tooth and claw seasons ago, and she hasn't thought of it since the gorge. there's no harm in watching, though, and she should be present if flowercloud injuries her bad leg, or duskpool's crunchy bones gets him before his sister could.

it's no secret that duskpool is one of their stronger warriors, he'd chew his tail off before retirement. "they both look kind of like... oversized dust bunnies." she says quietly to the nearest onlooker, eyes darting back and forth, attempting to make sense of their movements.
