  • Howdy, I'm Foxlore (or Fox, or Ash)! First thing about me, I'm a mobile-only roleplayer, which means sometimes codes look weird and janky for me, and sometimes my own codes look weird because I've formatted them to look good on mobile (let me know if this happens, I try my best to be accommodating). If you need to reach me, feel free to DM me on discord (username witch.dance)! Below are some of the basics to be aware of when interacting with myself or my characters <3

    ➼ Feel free to ping or tag me or my characters in posts! Also feel free to DM me on discord (@witch.dance) if you need anything!

    ➼ I don't mind sharing character prefixes with other folks! If you're thinking of making a character who shares a prefix with one of mine, you don't even need to ask me because I will ALWAYS be okay with it <3

    ➼ All of my characters are polyamorous, so keep that in mind if you have a problem with poly relationships.

    ➼ In fights, I will not be using dice to determine any outcomes! Almost all attacks will land on my characters (unless I'm avoiding certain injuries). My characters are also not open for multiple opponents in fights unless otherwise plotted! I always prefer to plan the outcome of a fight before the fight is underway.

    ➼ Many of my characters use multiple pronouns, and I use their pronouns interchangeably in posts (ex. using "she" in one sentence and "they" in the next sentence), but that doesn't mean you have to, as long as you're using the right pronouns!

    ➼ If you play a close family member / mate of my character, please give me advance warning and don't just kill them off as a surprise. If they're in a different clan or distantly related then obviously that's a different situation, but surprise deaths close to my characters REALLY stresses me out.

    ➼ I allow for healing, peaceful, or minor injury (scratches, shoves, etc.) powerplaying of my characters, within reason. I do NOT, however, allow for my characters to be powerplayed in terms of major injury or death. I also do not allow my characters' opinions or reactions to be assumed without permission.
    ➼ Just because I allow powerplaying doesn't mean my characters will react positively to it! This is noted in each of their posting template tags.​

  • Tunneler of WindClan, rarely seen outside of the tunnels that she knows like the back of her paw. Ashbird is loyal to her clan over all else. She has years of experience underground, and has seen more of this world than she knows what to do with. She helped to lead her small family on a great journey into the mountains in search of a new home and a new life for themselves.

    A stoic, highly guarded cat with a sharp gaze, Scorchstar's trust is difficult to earn and nearly impossible to regain once lost. She is intelligent and logical, and scorns emotional decision-making. Rarely does she lie, both refreshing and brutal in her unfettered honesty. She is normally a calm and level-headed warrior, but her mood can change just as quickly as the wind across the moor—not that anyone would know, given her stone-faced appearance.​
  • Ashbird is a ferociously loyal warrior above all else—she is willing to do just about anything for the sake of her family, and stands by them against all that would harm them. In conflict, they would easily choose the clan as a whole over any individual. She is a shrewd, intelligent cat who tries to keep her emotions out of her decision-making.

    In battle she strikes violently and indiscriminately, a bloodied axe set to swing. No one is safe from her wrath when it rages to the surface.

    Ashbird is a rule follower at heart, and scorns those who break the clan's laws. She is a strict enforcer of rules when she can be, and holds respect and duty in high regard. She takes her responsibilities seriously and does not do anything halfway, to the best of her ability. She insists on completing tasks and projects as efficiently as possible—in doing so, she tends to overwork herself, and can become snappy if others try to convince her to take a break. Her confidence has grown significantly after her journey into the mountains, though she is more frequently seen in the tunnels than aboveground.​
  • Pays frequent visits to the clan's graveyard, and leaves various sun-bleached and cleaned bones and skulls atop the graves of those she cares for. She has found a somewhat morbid hobby in collecting bones.​

Of short stature and fiery spirit, Ashbird cuts an intimidating figure despite her size. Her pelt is short and coarser than it appears, usually coated in patches of caked-on dirt. Her forepaws are broader than her hind paws, flexible and powerfully built, though her claws tend to be dulled. She is moderately scarred, but most of her scars are cloaked beneath her fur—of the visible scars, she has claw scars from the top of her head to her left eye, and puncture scars in the shape of two canine teeth in her left cheek. Across her chest lies a prominent E-shaped scar, and across the right side of her ribcage stretch the claw marks of a badger.​

  • Scorchstar is considered a loner, shouldering the burden of leading the clan all on her own, and hesitant to confide in others. Once upon a time she had many friends, a loving mate, and a family that she could freely adore, but death has long since claimed everyone she trusts, and shattered what family she has remaining. Still, she holds her friends & family close to her heart, and cares deeply for them.

    She is widowed following the death of her former mate, and is hesitant to let herself fall in love again. She is polyamorous, open to having multiple partners in her relationships.

    CLANMATES.
    Ashbird does not always see eye-to-eye with her clanmates, and refuses to bare her vulnerabilities to any of her clanmates besides her kin. Still, in conflict, she will always take the side of her clan over anyone else. Even if her clanmate is in the wrong, she will support them—though they may receive a glare or a few harsh words when in private.

    NON-CLANMATES.
    Doesn't yet hold a solid opinion of any of the other clans. Also doesn't hold any general distaste for those outside of clans; views them as equal to herself. Doesn't believe that clan is inherently better than non-clan (but still has the capacity to hate individuals).​
  • PAST IDENTITY. You may know Ashbird from another site, where she was Scorchstreak and then Scorchstar. This is basically a direct port of that character. As such, I refer to them OOC as "Scenior" (Scorch senior)

    STRENGTHS. Broad forepaws and powerful shoulders built for digging. Skilled navigator belowground, excellent memory. Keen sense of smell. Great nighttime vision. Stealthy and light-footed.

  • Personality blurb​
  • Once taken back to camp, the kit will struggle to settle into their new clan. They will cling to the first adult who shows them kindness, and will attempt to burrow as deeply as possible into whatever fur they are allowed. They will grow closest to their primary caretaker, but the cat who initially found them will forever be the one whom they look to for guidance, their role model, their inspiration. They will trust this cat above all others, and would do anything asked of them this character. Their development will be heavily based upon change and the shifting of circumstances; they will do their best to roll with the punches, but they will learn that sometimes it's simply better to allow blows to hit you. Broken bridges can be rebuilt even stronger, walls can be stacked up and ripped down again, and a smashed window can cut back.

    As they grow, they will show a lax, almost lazy, nature, although their enthusiasm for adventure will not be lost. Where new discoveries are to be had, one can be sure to find them there, looking on with bright eyes hidden behind that thick mane of fur. They do prefer to curl up and nap with whichever clanmate is willing, but they will also hardly turn down the chance of a fun time. They are also, admittedly, a bit dumb. Unobservant and oblivious, they carry themself through life a bit less sharply as others—jokes and insults both tend to go right over their head, and sometimes secrets just slip out by mistake. Still, their goal is never to harm others, be it physically or emotionally. They prefer to end fights with words rather than claws, occasionally to their own detriment.

    Vanity calls their name as they settle into RiverClan. Being surrounded by so many cats with luxurious fur, while their own twists and tangles like it's set upon by briars at all times, will eventually lead to a poor self-image and low self-confidence. But the beauty of the landscape will enamor them; how could they ever want to be anywhere but here? They will do their best to show compassion and kindness to all whom they meet, even across clan borders. They will look to Pikestar, their father in every way but blood, for guidance or reassurance on every decision they make.​
  • They will be initially displeased to learn that they were separated from their siblings, and will immediately ask to go see them. They will be insistent about this for a while, to a frankly annoying level, but when the time does come that they meet their siblings, they will be ecstatic and will want to continue to meet with or visit their siblings. Of course, there will always be the chance of conflicts between clans, but their blood relations across borders will drive them to hold back when their own clanmates may grow angrered. They will always find some excuse for another clan's behavior, desperate to smooth things over before ire takes root. They don't want conflict, especially not if it means they may hav to face one of their siblings on the battlefield.​

A pathetic, mewling scrap of fur, it is a simple thing to take pity on this kit. They are cloaked in a long, dense coat of fur that falls in matted little curls around their face and limbs. They are small, but not light—stocky limbs betray a solidly-built frame beneath all that fur. Their fur itself is a deep, rich chocolate color, with snow-white patches scattered over their form. Anyone willing to push back the fluff atop their head to actually see their eyes would find a pair of round, bright leafy-green eyes.

  • A quiet and independent kit, one who could be easily misconstrued as lonesome. From birth it suffers from​
  • A mask behind a mask—that would be the best way to describe Goldenrodkit. Every action, every detail is carefully crafted, every ruse carefully kept up and patched with more lies. It starts as a childish whim, lying for the fun of it, to make themself seem bigger and cooler than they are. But it compounds as they age, little white lies snowballing into intricately strung-together stories and a spider's web of connections that can't be discovered lest their entire social standing fall through the cracks they've been carefully toeing their way around. (At some point in their apprenticeship I'd like to explore what happens when their house of cards comes tumbling down on top of them, and how they'd pick themself back up afterward.)

    Serial dishonesty aside, Goldenrodkit is… not much, to be frank. They're a good-natured kit, a friendly social chameleon who knows the right things to say and when to say them. They have a good feeling for where to press forward and where to give ground in order to get the best outcome for themself. In a way, they can come off as self-serving, willing to push anyone else under the bus in order to prevent responsibility from falling on their head when things go wrong. Still, they are polite enough to be a frequent face in the elders' den, seemingly tolerated (if not well-liked) by the best storytellers in the clan. Their curiosity drives them to seek out every tale they possibly can, hoping to unravel the history of clan they live in, and the clans beyond.

    They find it difficult to rely on others, independence learned from a young age and near-impossible to let go of. They retain a comfortable distance between themself and others, feeling as though it's a weakness to be truly known and seen by another. As such, they are unlikely to share their inner thoughts and feelings with others even if asked, and tend to keep secrets, even the most mundane ones.​

A strange, small thing, Goldenrodkit would be easily overlooked if not for the bright coloring of its contrasting fur. It is spindly and long-legged even in its youth, a thin frame with ribs and hipbones peeking out through the thin scruff of its fur. Its coat is short and ruffled, thinning in many places and generally unkempt; often it is dusted with clumps of dirt and scattered beetle wings, plus the occasional bug limb tucked into coarse strands. Its fur is painted a deep, sun-warmed ebony, ribboned with sunlit gold striped across its forehead, limbs, tail, and abdomen. Its eyes are the same shade as a crimson-orange sunset, almond-shaped and sharp at the corners and sitting wide in an angular face. Its ears, starkly pointed, are nearly batlike in the way that they stand straight up from the kit's wedge-shaped head. Its tail is long and whiplike, thin and expressive in each of its motions. Goldenrodkit itself often wears a bright expression, complete with a sharp smile that appears almost calculating. It aims to be purposefully disarming in its appearance, tries to make itself small and nonthreatening in spite of the cleverness that lurks beneath the surface. The kit tends to skulk around with their body low to the ground, taking on a creeping gait with ever-soft pawsteps.

Goldenrodkit suffers from chronic upper respiratory infections, and as a result has a poor appetite and a constant case of the sniffles. Its voice is raspy and hoarse; the kit speaks very rarely, and only around those she truly trusts. When it does speak, its voice is feather-soft and can be difficult to understand.​

  • Bright and upbeat, Torridpaw brings easy companionship laced with sarcasm. She is reckless and hardly ever honest, falling back on jest and lightheartedness to disguise any negative emotions she may be feeling. She often isn't taken seriously, or feels as though her accomplishments and abilities are diminished due to her nonchalant nature. He is driven primarily by a desire to meet his kin across the border, and a need to reconcile what he's been told about them versus what he wishes they could be. He believes that if he tries hard enough he could simply mend his parents' relationship.

    Charismatic — a genuinely fun person to be around, excels at entertaining others. Humorous and lighthearted, outgoing, can fit well into nearly any group.

  • Cool-headed and cold-hearted. A cunning and hardened woman, focused more on her duty than on personal bonds. Still, she has devotion left for her leader and for her closest friend Grizzlypeak. She is more loyal to leadership than to her clan, viewing Sablestar as someone who uses his authority, perhaps overstepping at times, for the good of the clan. She cares for others in her clan, of course, just… from a carefully-maintained distance, a tail's length away at all times. She is serious and no-nonsense, unamused by frivolities such as pranks or relaxation. Her mind works quickly, reading situations with care and caution before executing a plan. Recklessness and impulse have no place in her life, with its meticulously-laid plans and goals. Codes of honor mean little to her, and the same goes for laws—the only moral tethers keeping her grounded are the opinions and judgments of those she is close to. Formerly called Arethusakit and then Berrypaw, Arethusapaw lived as an apprentice of DuskClan for months before Rumblerain's fall led to their fleeing the rogue group. They and Mizzlemoon traveled to SkyClan from there, eventually joining as apprentices of the pine forest clan.​
  • As a young kit, born into a twoleg household, Arethusakit is soft and sweet, a delicate petal clinging to a flower. Gentle and kind, she shows great care when playing with her sibling and parent. Her destiny seems to be outlined in the stars, the ideal candidate to be a kind and caring SkyClan warrior—but it is not.

    Taken away (given away willingly, she thinks, and aches) from her birth parent at a young age, Arethusakit will not be pleased to join her other parent in DuskClan. But in Rumblerain's care she will grow quiet and cunning, raised to be an ever-loyal DuskClanner.

    A social shapeshifter, she blends easily into any conversation. She is graceful and clever—but she is overconfident, and the naïvety of a kit born and raised in a twoleg household does not wear off quickly. She does not remember much from her time with Edenberry, but what she does remember is softness. Secretly, she longs for that softness which was left behind, but DuskClan demands strength, and so strong she is determined to be. She is fierce in her support of Rumblerain and is not above making petty threats if necessary. Although, as young and awkwardly-shaped as she is, her threats don't sting as much as they could once she grows into her too-long legs.

    She is often viewed and treated as older than she is, saddled with duty, but even as mature as she is, she still retains a kitlike naïvety and overconfidence that gets her into many sticky situations. Even as a kit, she has sharp eyes and a sharper wit; she is difficult to deceive, and is able to see right through many lies from others. However, she is naïve enough to believe that none of her clanmates would ever lie to her, and so her suspicions are often ignored. She is not the type of cat to go with her gut, preferring to meticulously plan each and every aspect of her day, and she is prone to panicking if her plans are disrupted.

Shadow-tipped, awash in dappled moonlight, her pelt is a splash of white against a normally-drab background. A canvas of stardust shrouds her lithe form, and short, soft fur graces the edges of her pelt. At her spine lies a dark stripe from nose to tail—her ears are caught entirely in its inky darkness, as is her tail—and from this stripe are scattered small dots of black fur in nearly starlike shapes. Her forepaws are wrapped in black and blue, and there is a smattering of small blue speckles on her muzzle. Settled upon her forehead, like the stars amidst the nighttime sky, is a single white spot.

Her eyes, narrow and sharp, glitter with the resilience of grass and the clarity of sky. They are framed in long, sweeping lashes that further the girl's image of innocence—but they hold a clever, calculating gaze when focused. Of course, as a kit, her presence is undermined by her proportions. Thin and gangly, with spindly fawn-legs and bat-cone ears, the kit clearly has much to grow into, and her poor coordination is further proof. She tends to stumble over her own too-long legs, and frequently trips over things in her path—her attempts at keeping a graceful, smooth gait are foiled by her own incoordination.
