She knew little of Jadethorn outside of her being one of Sablestar's night guards. She was a pretty molly, a pretty molly with a gaggle of kits. She knew little of her situation, knowing that Jadethorn had returned to her duties following the death of Coalstrike, which seemed to hit her pretty hard. She wasn't familiar with either Wolfpack or Coalstrike personally, just knowing their cold exteriors were almost alluring for her own pining to have another litter. Shame the latter was dead now. They both reminded her of her dearly departed Cherub, and she wondered if by some divine fate him and Coalstrike were meeting up in whatever afterlife there was.

She approached the molly cautiously, they had never spoken before --- outside of the typical patrol assignments. The white molly sat on her haunches, looking forward, blue eyes looking over the clan.

"I'm sorry about Coalstrike," She started, not looking at the molly. "You're a good mother, I'm sure your kits will still flourish." It was the most she could offer for comfort, both of her litters had flourished without their fathers. Even if Shiverflame and Frostheart sometimes decided Frogheart was deserving of their sympathy. She glanced towards the rosette molly, her gaze was always so hardened. It was admirable, an attractive trait in anyone. The cold molly licked her paw, looking at her again.

"Did you choose to return to your duties? Or did that hard-ass Sablestar force you to?"
She smirked, knowing that she herself had milked her days in the nursery for all they were worth.

SPEECH // THOUGHTS // INTERACTION

There's only two types of people in the world

The ones that entertain, and the ones that observe

The cold was starting to settle over the muddy land that was their home. If it wasn't evident enough with the dismal lack of prey, it was seen in the puffs of breath that permeated from each clanmates' muzzle. No longer was sunbathing enough to keep warm. No longer did they have days where the birds sang and bugs chittered. The winged beasts had flown their nests, the insects huddling in the earth for the coming leafbare. It was no wonder their freshkill pile was a sad sight to see. She was lucky to have enough to feed her dear gemstones and to keep them growing. And so many of them were growing. A little too fast but with fathers like Coalstrike and Wolfpack, she shouldn't have been surprised.

The night guard had settled down near the nursery's entrance after a less than successful hunt, claws digging into the measily shrew she had procured from the pile. Her stones were all tucked away and resting away from the cold. She would have to finished this meal and head back out to make sure they had a breakfast to wake up to that werent frogs and lizards. Her green gaze barely noticed when a form settled beside her, stark white a harsh contrast to the mud adled camp. She didn't pay the clanmate any mind – there was only so much room in camp for them to settle and relax – until... "I'm sorry about Coalstrike." Claws sliced through the sliver of meat and into the mud. Her tail tip twitched. 'Sorries this, well wishes that. Like they understand...'

The next words helped to cool the rising anger. A compliment among the sea of thoughts and prayers. A huff of a breath was given, the cloud disappaiting with the breeze. "As everyone should expect. They're strong and tough, like their fathers. Like me. They will shine with time. Bright enough that Coalstrike will see them from beyond his grave." A single claw ripped a muscle from the shrew, lifting it to her muzzle to chew on. With that statement, she expected the other to be off, like many of the others she barely knew when giving condolences. But this molly appeared to not be moving. Instead, her voice entered the air once again, this time a query on her position.

A sigh as Jadethorn pushed herself into a sitting position. If she was to be dragged into a conversation, so be it. With a swish of her tail, the rosette slid the half of the shrew towards her new companion. There was no words to compliment the gesture as she started to clean the blood and mud from her claws. "I don't like to stay cooped up in one spot. Sablestar suggested it, yes, but I agreed. After all..." She looked back towards the entrance of the nursery, eyes shining for a moment before turning her attention back to the middle of camp. "If I hadn't, they would be forced to eat slime covered frogs or worse... clams..." She shuddered at the memory of Vampirebite and the sound of them slurping that strange creature out of it's shell. "I serve them only the best prey, and I prefer the chance to catch it myself." Finally, her head swiveled in the molly's direction, toxic eyes drilling into their very soul. "Marrow, right?" She didn't bother to recall her name's addition. "Why do you ask? Do you not trust our charming leader?" There was something there with how she spoke of Sablestar. Her words carried a weight to them. Whether it was in favor for or against his higher position, was to be interpreted by the receiver.
