November, December and Early January

With the loss of Coffeestar and the fear of being overrun by rats, Hawkstar takes the lead with Flowercloud by her side to journey to far lands that's destined for them…

After receiving her nine lives, Hawkstar calls her first meeting, and last one in the rocky gorge. She promotes Flowercloud to be her deputy, assigns mentors to newly apprenticed Teaselpaw, Rosepaw, Lavenderpaw, and Cygnetpaw. Duskpool and Mousefang are relieved of their duties as Sunguard following Hawkstar\'s ascension.

Meadowlark, the clan's medicine cat, steps down from her position, leaving Tigerfoot to take the mantle. Needing an apprentice, he asks Swallowpaw, who accepts.

Shortly after Hawkstar's meeting, Batwing begins a vigil for the fallen Coffeestar.

Their first trek is through the forest next to the gorge, they encounter their first snowfall of the season. It's peaceful, a stark contrast to the creepy, whispering gorge that's covered in a thick layer of fog.

Skyclan picks up a handful of scrappy, young cats while in the gorge. Falcon, Arabesque and Flicker are all found separately and taken in.

In the midst of the fog, a fox suddenly attacks the clan. During the chaos, Ponypaw hears the voice of Coffeestar, beckoning her to safety. The apprentice flees and slips into the cold, cold river. She is saved by Sagesong, but she is freezing from the unexpected, ice bath in leafbare.

Afterwards, during a blizzard, the clan is called into the home of a friendly kittypet by the name of Tigger. They bunker down to wait out the cold, and lick their wounds.
