CLAN GUIDE & CLAN CENSUS

December and Early January

Following the late-night massacre that has seen the Colony divided into two clans, ThunderClan takes its first steps to becoming a fully formed clan but it is not without its struggles..

Hawthorne and his deputy, Juniper, head for Highstones per Coffeestar's directions but are ambushed by Sable and two of his followers- they murder Hawthorne before he can complete his pilgrimmage.

This leaves Juniper to flee the last stretch and upon touching the Moonstone , she is granted her nine lives by some of those who died during the battle earlier that night as well as Hawthorne, who has undertaken the mantle Thornstar as he should've been known had he made the journey there alive. She is named Juniperstar and given directions for how to mold newly born ThunderClan.

While the two are absent, Serpent goes into labor and welcomes three kits, two named Leafkit and Rattlekit by their mother and uncle respectively.

The sun rises and Juniperstar returns alone, telling the clan of Thornstar's loss - it goes unsaid who his murderers are but it seems commonly understood that Sable is the culprit... a group of volunteers hurries out to recover his body.

Juniperstar is left to tell Serpent the news of her lover's loss and after naming Thistlekit in his honor, departs. Thornstar fulfills his promise and rushes to visit his widow, naming her Serpentberry, ThunderClan's first medicine cat.

A vigil is held to honor their short-lived leader and founder . . . a reign as short-lived and bright as the stars.

It is a busy and grief-filled day that sees the clan introduced to their new structure- Juniperstar holds the clan's first meeting , naming a small group before growing tired and promising to return. Over the course of the next few days she continues to dole out new names until at long last everyone has been given an identity befitting a clan warrior.

Serpentberry, unable to abandon her new kittens for very long, sends out a small group of warriors in her stead to search for herbs and in this act of exploration, forces the clan to learn some of their new landmarks!

With their new territory largely undiscovered, Juniperstar prompts those of able body to go vaguely establish some sort of borders ... anything that seems easy to defend is marked though it remains to be seen if the landscape won't reveal itself to be unrecognizable come the new-leaf thaw.

A leader cannot remain without a deputy for long, especially not with the knowledge that Juniperstar will be indisposed caring for a new litter soon... The clock ticks down relentlessly. ThunderClan's S/HP Consent Form is opened - the clan's first deputy and Storm Guards will be chosen randomly!
