  a long furred grey speckled molly with black patches and blue eyes.

  
  getting older gracefully is one of urchin's strengths. despite her retirement from being a warrior, she could still absolutely demolish someone if they threatened the nursery. she has reared three litters of her own and probably knows motherhood and the nursery better than the back of her paw... if she was one to boast. urchinspine is a fluffy grey molly with brittle fur, streaks of silver from aging, especially along her muzzle, and icy blue eyes. she has darker grey patches along her face and pelt, as well as a white underbelly, legs and muzzle. it has been said she smells of milk, kittens, and occasionally an almost... sad odor. most aren't really sure how to explain it.

• Urchinspine was quite the warrior in her youth, or so others have murmured. her and oleanderwish were set to be mates since apprenticehood, and he seemed to be her everything... it seemed to utterly shatter whatever she used to be when he passed away alongside their son 12 moons ago. most know her now as the bitter old woman that lives in the nursery, helping den dads, expectant mothers, and even nursing mothers when they need the break. her children check up on her now and again... but it seems like they are trying to work through their own lives and their own grief at the loss of their father.
  
  urchinspine seems to have two sides, the one everyone sees: a bitter molly who is quick to snap at those she deems "stupid", impatient, grumpy, demanding... and the calm and collected senior queen who coaches new parents through the hardest of times. the one that smiles seeing kits wrestle, the one who shares clan history with apprentices. she's always been a confusing molly to some, and some pity her (don't say that to her face, you're more than likely to get smacked). her advice to new or expectant mothers (or den dads) is viewed as a welcome comfort, a wisdom. and while she at first wasn't thrilled with being stuck in the nursery... she has seemed to open up to it

  Born to traditional parents Greywing and Morningmist alongside her littermates Wavekit and Seafoamkit, Greywing immediately resumed his duties as a warrior. Leaving their mother to raise them alone in the nursery, with only the occasional visit from the medicine cat to keep her company. Morningmist however, was a doting mother. She adored all three of her daughters equally, and while Urchinkit was the shyest of the three, the other two seemed completely full of energy. Seafoamkit and Wavekit were always play-fighting while Urchinkit stuck to the sidelines, knowing that one day the three would make great warriors to their clan.

  APPRENTICEHOOD

  APR '19 - OCT '19 x

  The three were named as apprentices together, with Urchinpaw being matched to the equally quiet and shy Ruineyes --- a tom who had recently had a run in with a hare that left his face scarred and blind in one eye. Nonetheless, he was strong, large --- and the perfect mentor to really help Urchinpaw hone her skills as a warrior. She was always a touch larger than other apprentices, perhaps due to her father's genetics, but it was clear that while her sisters may excel at the other clan roles... she was meant for the path of a warrior.
  
  During her apprenticeship, she met him, Oleanderpaw. He was a few moons her senior, and was also setting up to be a warrior once he passed his assessment. Oleanderpaw was a show-off, he enjoyed making the female apprentices laugh and fawn over him. Urchinpaw was coming into her own at this point, growing more comfortable in her own skin, and she scoffed at his attempts to impress her. This seemed to make him try harder, and after he failed his first warrior assessment, Urchinpaw was the only apprentice to not pity him. She scoffed and told him to try harder.
  
  Oleanderpaw became Oleanderwish two moons before Urchinpaw was due for her own assessment, and he was sent on a patrol with her, Ruineyes, and another warrior shortly after. During this, they were accidentally separated from the group, and Oleanderwish grabbed Urchinpaw before she slipped into a gorge. She hated to admit it, but he was handsome, despite the cockiness. Once they were reunited with their clanmates, it was hard to deny the crush she had on him. He brought her back to camp unscathed, and Morningmist flooded him with compliments, while Ruineyes looked relieved he had not lost his apprentice.
  
  However, disaster had struck while they were out of camp. A screech was heard as Seafoampaw dragged the limp and battered body of Wavepaw back to camp, there was no saving her, her spirit had long since fled to Starclan. Her and her sister had been testing out their ranger skills, with Seafoampaw daring Wavepaw to cross the Thunderpath or she was a "coward". Wavepaw relented, but wasn't quick enough to run off the path when the monster roared across and struck her. Seafoampaw looked defeated, Urchinpaw however... was furious.
  
  Morningmist mourned her daughter alone, with Greywing not one for emotion. Seafoampaw was taken to the medicine cat den to be looked over, but all Urchinpaw could think while she held vigil for her sister was how Seafoampaw had killed her.

  WARRIORHOOD

  MAY '19 - MAY '24 x

  She was given her warrior name first between her and Seafoampaw, as Seafoampaw was deemed to need more time. Urchinspine, for her unwavering spirit. She met Oleanderwish after, and after a brief walk alone outside camp, a hunting venture, the two decided to become mates. One moon later, and Urchinspine, 14 moons at the time, was pregnant with their first litter. Seafoampaw passed her warrior assessment not long after Urchinspine found out, becoming Seafoambelly for her unwavering laughter and jolly spirit despite everything that happened. Urchinspine wanted nothing to do with her sister, even if everyone else seemed to have forgiven her. Oleanderwish respected his mate's wishes, even if he felt pity --- knowing it was a small mistake.
  
  At 16 moons, Urchinspine gave birth to two kits: Daturakit and Tulipkit. Both sons. Oleanderwish puffed out his chest in pride, staying by his mate's side whenever he could. He would preform his duties and return to her, sleeping by her side each night. When their first litter was apprenticed, Greywing had passed away from illness and Seafoambelly tried once again to talk to her sister at their father's vigil. Urchinspine snarled at her, storming off to check on her sons.
  
  Once her sons were made warriors, Daturablossom for his kind heart and Tulipmask for his markings, Urchinspine found herself pregnant with her second litter. This time she gave birth to two mollies: Moonflowerkit and Dandelionkit. The same routine followed, with Oleanderwish staying close to his mate when he could. Tulipmask even had the task of being Moonflowerpaw's mentor when she was appenticed, while Dandelionpaw was apprenticed to a more senior warrior. Unfortunately, sometimes tragedy strikes twice.
  
  Dandelionpaw was killed during an ambush at sunningrocks alongside her mentor, with her small body being dragged to camp by the patrol that found them. Urchinspine was devastated, but she had a web of comfort from her mother, mate, sons, and her other daughter. Seaformbelly tried to offer her sympathy and was met by a firm paw to the face, and a scream to get away from her.
  
  Moonflowerpaw was named Moonflowerheart, both due to her personality and to honour her sister. She joined her brothers proudly after her ceremony.
  
  At 70 moons, a senior warrior to some but still in her prime, Urchinspine fell pregnant again. She was almost surprised, but she welcomed her next litter of kits, her largest: Primrosekit, Comfreykit, and Lupinekit. While resting in the nursery after their birth, the colony was attacked. Oleanderwish was quick to guard the nursery, his mate, his kits --- but he was overpowered by the attackers. Rogues, fighting dirty, after the kits. Urchinspine watched as they killed her mate, and roared into a frenzy. She rushed forward, only to have her own throat slit after taking one down. She laid there, powerless as the rogues went for her kits... but Tulipmask rushed in, protecting his siblings --- driving a majority out before his yowl was heard, falling to the ground with his stomach slashed, bleeding out by his mother that was slowly losing consciousness. The last thing Urchinspine saw was the other warriors coming to attack, defending her kits.
  
  She awoke in the medicine cat den, panicked. She was informed that Comfreykit, Primrosekit, and Lupinekit were all fine... while also being informed of Oleanderwish and Tulipmask's deaths. She yowled loud enough to wake the dead, but she knew she had to be strong for her kits, who were now being reared by a caregiver while she recovered.
  
  She recovered in time to see them be made apprentices... but her wounds forced her into retirement, and due to her own history of childbearing and rearing --- instead of retiring to the elder's den, she took over as the primary caregiver within the colony.

  ELDER/CAREGIVER

  MAY '24 - PRESENT x

  When the colony split apart, Urchinspine opted to stay with Thunderclan, knowing it's what her mate probably would have wanted. Her elder children followed her, and her younger children did not have a choice. Urchinspine mainly stays in the nursery now, but she does take the time to spend with all her kits. While she wasn't thrilled about it at first, she welcomes her role. But her bitterness at the loss of her mate and son seems to cloud her vision.
  
  In December of 2025, Urchinspine's final litter of kits was made warriors. Primrosepaw had asked Loonstar if she could be given the "mask" suffix, in honour of her older brother that saved her life. Their warrior ceremony was the first time Urchin had openly wept since her mate and son's passing.
  
  In late December of 2025, Seafoambelly saw a pregnant molly attempting to cross the Thunderpath. It was clear she had already been struck or harmed, Seafoambelly tried to help her but ended up being struck by an oncoming monster. Urchin and Seafoam were able to reconcile, but Seafoam lost her life. The queen did as well, but not before she birthed a single kitten. Urchin brought the molly back to camp, claiming her as her own and naming her Saffronkit.
