{$title} Boarkit intro!! Come pester the baby!!!
————————————— The melody sings what the words can't say. ✦

Despite being so young and in a brand new place, Boarkit found himself lost in what to do. He and his siblings only ever knew that foul-smelling mill, cramped and humid and bitter. One might think a kitten with endless possibilities would be bounding at the idea of running about exploring. Though, more often than not, the peculiar-looking little thing instead sat quietly alone or found a warrior to ask questions about how this whole clan thing worked.

That day was no different than the ones that preceded it. Boarkit was curled not far from the prey the warriors had caught that day, a mouse poorly bitten into, held gently between oversized, too-many-toed paws. Though it seemed the prey was largely forgotten about, even as a tiny dribble of blood trickled the corner of Boarkit's mouth where he was able to gnaw on the thing. Instead, the kitten seemed quite literally lost in the clouds, basking in the warmth of the new leaf sun watching the clouds pass by, his pointy little tail thumping contently against the quarry floor.

Boarkit didn't mind all too much finding it hard to talk with the other cats in the clan. He felt rather... Outside of them all still. They all seemed to know each other well, they'd clearly been living here a long time. Saltkit had been keeping an eye on Icekit since their injury, and well of course Saltkit would check on him too, but Boarkit was okay being alone- Or lonely, maybe? It was hard to be alone in a clan full of cats. He tried to talk to the other cats, the older warriors, the apprentices, or the other kittens - but he stumbled over his words plenty, his teeth jutting out weirdly from his lower jaw making his talking hard to understand. That was okay! He'd keep trying when they let him, but in the meanwhile, they were okay being a little lonely.

The kitten remembered the mouse between their paws, the gentle wind wafting the scent of fresh blood into their face. They tried again to tear into the flesh of the thing, with minimal success. How their teeth stuck out didn't just make talking hard, but eating was a struggle too. Ever since their teeth grew in wrong, they'd been unable to eat as much, but that was okay too! They'd figure it out, though the gnawing feeling in their stomach some nights after little success with prey was getting a little exhausting. Though Boarkit winced a little, catching their upper lip in an attempt to chew on their prey. "Not again..." The smallest huff of frustration about the inconvenience slipped from their lips as they wiped their face with a paw, smearing a little blood in their fur.

  • Note: Boarkit is a funky little guy, he's got big ol' bappers (polydactyl) and a strong underbite, which means he has a really bad lisp at this age, whenever it comes up in speech I'll write it as much but I can add a regular text version either here in the ooc or as an abbreviation if that'll help folks read what they're saying!!!

Hopekit was not often curious– it seemed that it was simply not in his nature. Even the 'kit-curiosity' seemed to have skipped him, somehow. But the kits that had come to the camp one day, ragged and bruised… They made him curious. Where did they come from? What happened to them? There were so many questions in his mind, swirling around, but because of his disposition, he hadn't. He didn't talk much, nevermind to strangers… but today, he spots Boarkit by himself, eating– well, trying to eat– a mouse. His teeth jut out at an angle, which seems to be very inconvenient when trying to eat.

Carefully, as if approaching an actual boar, Hopekit makes his way over to Boarkit. His voice is soft when he speaks, as it usually is.

"Do you… need help?" Hopekit asks, hoping that it doesn't come off as rude, or… demeaning, or something. He really does just want to help– that's in his disposition too. "I could tear it up for you...?"
