Recovery could be slow. New wounds may occur as well, making it all the more difficult for their clan to stand tall. He finds himself listening to Wavesong's wisdom for strength. Sometimes he wondered why Starclan had not chosen her for this duty instead, but it would do no good for anyone to let those thoughts consume him. He was done wishing someone else had taken this mantle. He had taken it after all. Taken it without any real thought, and as a consequence made this clan suffer due to his foolishness.
Unfortunately, he couldn't turn back time. All he can do now is push forward. Yes, all of them, Riverclan needed to be persistent. Even if they were fragile and lacked power compared to other clans, they had the ability to cut through rock if they persisted. The other clans had little faith in them and it was with good reason. However, this provided an opportunity. They will rue the day they underestimated Riverclan. When that day finally arrived, he could only hope everyone would feel a little more at ease.
For now, he was dripping droplets of water into the floor of his den with his latest treasures he fished out of the River. An assortment of smooth shiny stones. There was one in particular he bore great fondness to. It was a reddish smooth stone (despite its strange grooves) with a streak of yellow. The redness of the stone practically glowed in the sun, perhaps due to how soaked it was. No doubt the red wouldn't be as vibrant when it dried, but it was by all means beautiful. He couldn't help but be reminded of a certain someone in particular. I should give this to her. We're on better terms now.
It was as if the stars had heard his plea when the very cat of his thoughts entered his den.

"Just the friend I've been looking for!"
A long silver tail points to the shiny red stone in front of his paws. "I want to give this to you. I was going to go find you right now and hand it over, but you've beaten me to the punch! Guess we both wanted to see each other, huh?"
If only he'd been more aware. If he was, then Pigeonpearl wouldn't have to feel as guilty for what would transpire.
