Jackdaw is, at first glance, friendly. She seems surprisingly open, too, like she has nothing at all to hide. In some form of irony, though, that's how she hides things- she barely skirts around the truth, all while keeping a close eye on whoever she may talk to and taking note of any secrets they may have. Trust doesn't come easily to her, or at all, and she'd prefer to have something to weaponize should she need to. It's how she's survived, and protected her family, for moons; blackmail, gossip, and turning anyone she may deem as a threat against each other. And…maybe sometimes watching the aftermath of things is funny to her. She's not the sort to get involved directly, herself, but she's not afraid to spread rumors that leave anyone else at each other's throats. Just so long as it doesn't come back to bite her family; she may be less-than-careful with her own wellbeing, but the wellbeing of anyone she cares about is placed higher than anything else she could think of. And maybe her protection isn't the usual kind, but it's still protection- she'll still do anything in her power to keep them safe.
While Jackdaw is friendly, he's also quiet, with a penchant for slipping away to hiding spots. And…yes, if he can, trying to eavesdrop. Even if secrets aren't admitted to him, he'll do everything he can to gain that knowledge anyway. For the same reason, though, he keeps most everyone at arm's length- he has secrets of his own, a lot of them, and it would be easier to pry them from his cold, dead claws than get him to admit anything. Especially not the latest one, and especially not that he doesn't entirely regret all of it. It's not that he doesn't regret it at all, but had things worked out the way he assumed they would, he'd do it all over again. He regrets the fact that he was tricked and it hurt his family, if anything- if there were ever a chance of things going the way he had planned, he'd still do it all over again. So…maybe his morals aren't the greatest- but as long as he keeps telling himself he never did anything directly, he can squash down most of the guilt overall.
Jackdaw will quickly earn a bit of a reputation as a social butterfly. They'll float from friend group to friend group, trying to make sure they have a spot in each one. They're far from being immune to the possibility of cruelty, though- while their anger isn't the typical kind, should anyone even slightly get on their bad side, it never fails that Jackdaw begins planning a way to ruin reputations. Petty, yes, but not a habit they'll let go of that quickly, if at all.
