BUT YOU'LL BE IN BLACK & WHITE IN HIS EYES
Magpiepaw crossed the Thunderpath under watchful eye of his ShadowClan uncle (who was thankfully much nicer than his ThunderClan one) and Rowanpaw who had come to make sure he got back safely and wanted to speak to Cicadabuzz. He only stumbled once though thankfully with no rumbling beast approaching as he did. He had seen only one monster so far in his coming and going from ThunderClan or herb gathering near the sloping hill leading down to it, and one was enough really. They were terrifying but also mysteriously bound to the burnt black stone they lumbered across and he often wondered why, but never enough to be too adventurous about it - Magpiepaw knew his limits and he wasn't about to end up a black and white splatter on the roadside.
The tiny kitten's gait picked up as they reached the loamy earth of ShadowClan's territory, his tail high and head bobbing as he clenched his jaw tighter around the bundle of herbs in his maw: sprigs of yellow and green, sunshine petals that looked out of place amidst the swamp's dreary landscape - tansy. They didn't have it here, he could not quite recall its purpose but Cicadabuzz had mentioned needing some and he had helpfully delivered. The young son of star and night did not think much of entering Serpentberry and Rowanpaw's den to gather a mouthful, had not seen Serpentberry to ask properly before making his way back home and Rowanpaw didn't seem to mind, so he assumed it would be fine to borrow and they could send something back at another time - afterall Serpentberry was practically family, close to his mother and while somewhat offputting on occasion she had always been nice enough to him that he felt not a shred of worry that it would be alright. The kitten's violet gaze wandered, seeking out his mentor who he knew would be waiting for his return and spotting the umber and copper form hunched over examining something on the ground still at the edge of the territory, through a muffled mouthful he mewled out a shrill greeting, "Cicacabuh-!" The mess of newleaf scented flora was spat onto the ground before the other's paws, "I got tansy! Oh, and Rowanpaw wanted to ask something..." He had only been paying half attention when she spoke about some kind of gathering of medicine cats on the walk there, he had been too eager to show his mentor the herbs he'd gotten to really focus on much else.

☆ Rowanpaw follows after Magpiepaw and his warrior escort in relative silence, having briefly explained her errand and now happy to not speak more of it. She wanted this, the meetings– she thinks it will be for the better. But it's still Shadowclan. It's still Sable's followers. It's still the cats who murdered her father. So she can't look at Shadesight, not really.

They reach the thunderpath and Magpiepaw crosses it with practiced ease, while Rowanpaw lingers uncomfortably for a moment, suddenly regretting not taking a warrior with her. Or even her mother. But… she wanted to send the right message, one of peace. Cooperation. And Cicadabuzz… they knew her, right? They knew Rowanpaw? At least a little? That she wouldn't lie, that she… she shakes her head, checking either side of the thunderpath, then darts over to follow behind Magpiepaw once more. And there they are. Magpiepaw speaks first, and vaguely introduces Rowanpaw's errand. She gives Shadesight a hesitant look before turning to Cicadabuzz.

"Hello again, Cicadabuzz… Magpiepaw is right, there is something I need to ask you. I… Recently my mother fell ill. I did not know what ailed her or how to cure it. But I was lucky, and ran into the medicine cat apprentice from Skyclan; her name is Swallowpaw. She taught me the right herb to use, and with it, my mother was saved. And it… it got me thinking," she takes a deep breath, swallowing hard. It was not going to be an easy sell. "It made me think of you, and how you offered me an herb to help with my pain. It made me think of the Riverclan medicine cat, Jinglemoon, who offered to help Thunderclan if only we ask. I think that– that we can help more cats if we work together. And with that in mind, I– I mean, we, me and Swallowpaw– we decided that we would try to propose a meeting for the medicine cat's. Every half moon. To… to learn from each other, to help each other. We propose that the meeting should take place at the highstones, somewhere neutral but with a connection to Starclan."

She looks at Cicadabuzz, mouth feeling dry. "You don't have to answer me now. I'll wait for you at four trees on the next half moon, and should you decide to come, we can travel together. If you don't come, I… I'll assume you've decided not to join us."

And, suddenly remembering the fact that they had yet to talk to Windclan, who's territory they'd have to cross to get there, she hesitates for barely a moment. But that… That wasn't important, not right now. If they didn't allow it, they could just meet at four trees instead. And if Cicadabuzz agreed, then they'd show up at four trees anyway.

"But… please consider it, Cicadabuzz," she says quietly. She resists the urge to simply turn around and cross back into Thunderclan territory, to leave this place and not have to think about Shadowclan again until the next half moon. But she stays, awaiting a response like a rabbit waiting for the bite.
