For once it's nice to have something to look forward to announcing during the meeting. A couple among their ranks will take their very first steps to warriorhood. With everything that has gone on... Having these ceremonies is sure to lift spirits. After all, they've endured from what Shadowclan has thrown their way. Though, he can't say he's ready to bury the hatchet with them. In time maybe they'll come to tolerate their shadowy neighbor, but it would be unwise to be hostile towards them. Considering Shadowclan is not only allies with Windclan, but they have kin in Thunderclan as well. Skyclan was not mentioned among those who had Shadowclan kin, but either way... More than half of the clans had ties to Shadowclan. Riverclan would need to be wise in how they handled the situation. Another council meeting has to be held...

With a shake of his head, he clambers up the stump and begins,
"Riverclan please gather for a very special day."
He cares not if some warriors decide not to listen, but he hopes the ones who did were the ones who were going to be celebrated today.
"As mentioned, Today is a very special day. A special day for three members of our clan. They've reached the age of six moons and will now commence their training as apprentices."

Green eyes scan the crowd looking for the future apprentices in question. He can't help but smile when he sees them well groomed for the event. It isn't necessarily a requirement that future apprentices should be well groomed, but he figures moments like these are worth the hassle. I hope you all didn't make too much of a fuss.
"Lavenderkit , or should I say Lavenderpaw... I'll cut to the chase since you've been trying to leave camp for moons now. Frostmoth will be your mentor."
It was a bit of a surprise when the deputy came to him and demanded that Lavenderkit be his apprentice. And who was Pikestar to deny such a demand? Frostmoth was more than ready for an apprentice and has worked tirelessly. He more than earned his right in selecting who should be his apprentice. If anything, he was curious how the deputy would wrangle in Lavenderkit. After all, that little one has been trying to sneak out before or convince a warrior to take them out of camp.

Alas, that would now be Frostmoth's biggest challenge. For now, he had to move onto the next apprentice.
"As for you, Jackdawpaw... I've decided Mudpool will be your mentor."
All he can hope is that Jackdawpaw's parents don't skin him alive for the choice. Mudpool is by no means a horrid choice for their child. The warrior has been nothing but loyal, helping others whenever they can. Perhaps not the strongest like Adderfang or Pineheart, but they have a good head on their shoulders.

As for the last kit... Well they weren't really a kit for awhile now, but unfortunately last moon's meeting was held a couple of days before they reached six moons (again he feels bad about it) and it was more than a little awkward to be hosting a meeting just for one announcement... POINT IS! He can't help but feel a bit guilty about the whole situation and he was going to make amends. No future warrior should suffer because he failed to assign them a mentor in time. That is why he decided on one particular cat to look after Moonlitpaw. He motions said cat forward.
"I apologize for the delay in your training Moonlitpaw. I can't make up for time, but there is a warrior I know who will more than make up for it. They have more than proven themselves as such. Dogflicker will be your mentor."
I hope you won't be too hard on Moonlitpaw. I've heard of your actions during the Shadowclan raid, but you've got a way with words. Oh, Moonlitpaw... Don't be afraid to tell Dogflicker when she's wrong.

Continuing on with awkward ceremonies, or could he even consider this a ceremony? Curlpaw is moons older than six if I remember correctly, which still makes things pretty bad. A lot more worse than Moonlitpaw... YEAHHHHH Lets not think too much about it right now.
"Curlpaw. It has come to my attention that you are in need of a proper mentor. You've done well in learning from your peers, but having a mentor dedicated solely to you alone would further your skills. The warrior who will take over your training will be Smokewreath. They have more than enough moons of experience to pass onto you. However, I believe that the both of you will bring out the best in one another."

All the ceremonies and reassignments have concluded. It occurs to him that he should bring up how the patrol with Shadowclan and Windclan went, along with what they've learned. However, a selfish part of him wanted the clan to be in high spirits. At least, for a little while. I should at least bring it up, so no one thinks I've let it be brushed aside. It has been a moon since we've talked to Shadowclan. Nothing bad has been going on with the other clans last moon.
"While today's ceremonies have concluded... There are still some things left unsaid. Last moon the other clans have left us alone, which has allowed us to recover without too much worry. We've even welcomed new clanmates since then. Riverclan has endured. Shadowclan may have wounded us, stolen our herbs, but they have not taken our perseverance."

And now comes the difficult part.

"I... Riverclan hasn't forgotten what they've done to us. We do not have to forgive them either. What we must do is tread carefully. Shadowclan has kin in both Windclan and Thunderclan. Their leader, Sablestar has shared this with those of us on the Shadowclan patrol. When I led the patrol to Windclan, a member of Dustystar's council stated that Shadowclan has been nice to them. When Dustystar arrived later, and when I had warned her of Shadowclan... She ushered us away. That being said, Windclan and Shadowclan are allies. Thunderclan I can't say for certain, until Juniperstar herself confirms it."

Thunderclan being an ally of Shadowclan is enough to make the fur on his back bristle. The other clan seemed far too honorable to be aligned with Shadowclan. However, he didn't know much about Thunderclan in the first place. They more or less respected each other, so he would say that their relationship wasn't bad. There was nothing done on both sides to make their relationship strained. Although... Just because there was Shadowclan kin in Thunderclan, it didn't necessarily mean the two were allies. He's witnessed families go against one another despite sharing blood. The situation puts Riverclan in quite the pickle. The only other clan they could turn to is Skyclan, if thunder decides to side with shadow and wind. That is if Hawkstar is willing, considering they don't get along too well.

"Riverclan can't afford to act recklessly."

He looks for Frostmoth in the crowd. Then his gaze trails over each and every council member that has shown themselves.
"That being said, I would like to thank our council for all the hard work they've done as well as the sacrifices they've made."
It's not an apology. It could never be. He would not give an apology like this. He would rather them all meet again and discuss. If anything, this is just his way of saying thank you. Gratitude wouldn't end there however.
"I also want to thank each and everyone of you. For those who searched for herbs, watched over our camp, checked our borders, trained our apprentices, and repaired our dens."

A moment of silence passes before the silver leader speaks up again.
"This concludes our meeting. Frostmoth will be arranging our patrols shortly. Once again, thank you."
This time he hopes Frostmoth takes no offense to the suddenness of the order as he retreats to his den. Have I done well? Is this enough? Or is it just the start?

I'm down but you know I'm not out! I'VE GOT ANOTHER ROUND!

He's sure Pikestar had more important things to say but the moment his name was called he was bounding forward and then promptly turning to charge at his mentor with all the enthusiasm he could must, his stick of a tail shaking violently as he held it up and his paws dancing idly from side to side. Mudpool, a much older warrior, already looked tired and they hadn't even touched noses yet. He was careful to reign himself in enough not to headbutt the older tom, but the second Pikestar started talking about something else he was already tuning out, mouth going a mile a minute with only a brief pause in between to catch his breath. At one point Mudpool had walked away and it took him a second to notice before he quickly scampered along after to follow, still talking...
"-learned how to swim cause mama tossed us in the shallows so I'm ready to go swimming whenever too-we can go fishing, I've only ever caught one minnow but I'm bigger now I can probably get another minnow or maybe even two minnow! What kind of fish have you caught, did you get any bigs one, have you ever caught a catfish-is that like a cat an a fish combined?" Jackdawpaw inhaled with a gasp before continuing, "Is a catfish a cat who was in the water too long an grew fins? Do you have fins? Do you think I could grow fins? I'm already really fast as swimming, imagine how fast I could go with fins! I'm even faster than Lavenerkit-erm-Lavenderpaw!" His voice trailed as he and his mentor finally drew further away, the echo of Jackdawpaw's voice still barely audible in the distance and a sharp "LOOK AT THIS ROCK!" pierced the air one last time.

Lavenderkit has begged, pleaded, and prayed for this very moment to come sooner - she was ready! Hazecloud and Lichentuft each pulled her out of the camp to show her bits of the territory and a border! Her knowledge was on par with some apprentices already. But the dangers of the other Clans, and the still rather unknown territory, kept her held hostage in the nursery. That is, until this moment, where Pikestar stands above them and summons all of RiverClan to witness her and her litter continue on with their lives.

The young molly feels her muscles tense as Hazecloud directs her parade of littlelings. Her rivermade curls are groomed to perfection, as if a camera's shutter will sound off at any moment. A few fish scales, too, shimmer in the depths of her pelt. She's glamorized this fleeting moment, beheld in Pikestar's gaze, at whim of his waving paw. She will be gifted to a warrior who will show her all they know, and expect her to continue on learning and growing, to be among the best of the first RiverClan born cats.

Her leader calls for her. Her tail raises and she trots forward, a smug grin fit in her expression. Pikestar notes her escape attempts and she bashfully rolls her eyes. Lavenderpaw, as she is now called, finds herself being pawed off to... Frostmoth.

Her eyes widen at first, and then narrow slightly as she turns to the bicolored tom. A silent, "You!" eminates from her frame, but ever a molly of her mother's visage, she happily touches her nose to his to keep the image of a union proper. They divert to the side, out of the way while Pikestar continues with ceremonies, condolences, and general hopes for the remainder of greenleaf. A gray paw jabs into the side of her mentor.

"I said I didn't want you!" Yet, somewhere in her chest, she's glad they've been paired up. By choice or circumstance, she doesn't exactly care. She's free from the nursery mundanity, after all - that's, in part, all she wanted! And as the seconds drag on, and she sees the mentors her siblings obtain... She's more and more settled with the one she has. After all, he is the deputy.

Jackdawpaw wanders off with his mentor, and Lavenderpaw deadpans with his final audible shout. She supposes she can be personable to contradict him, in the least.

"Can I help you make patrols?" Lavenderpaw asks, as if she hadn't acted the way she did before. A glimmer of hope shines in her eyes, "I'm realllyyy good with cat match ups...!" A blatant lie, truly, but she still sparks a smile.

IT'S BEEN DECIDED HOW WE LOSE
She has settled down at the edge of the crowd, near her family. She sits up straight, her pelt neatly groomed just like her parents except her to be. Her apprenticeship so far hasn't really been what she imagined it to be. Without a proper mentor her training didn't progress the way it should have. It's not like she is still on the skill level of kit, she has gotten a bit of training after all, but it's nowhere near where her parents expect it to be. They have made it clear more than once that they expect her to be better. Moonlitpaw tries, she truly does, but how is she supposed to really learn when she doesn't have a proper mentor. She doesn't really listen to what Pikestar says during the meeting. Her mind is too occupied with thinking about how she can make her parents proud and gain their approval. She only listens when she hears her own name.

Pikestar finally assigns her her own mentor! She is glad about it, though she doesn't really know Dogflicker. She never really had anything to do with the warrior, so she isn't sure how to feel about her being her mentor now. Still every cat is better than having no mentor she supposes. She's supposed to come forward and touch noses with Dogflicker, right? While making her way through the crowd, she casts a glance towards her parents. Their facial expressions remain stoic. At least they don't seem to be displeased with Pikestar's choice of a mentor for her, but… they also don't really seem to be happy about it. Once she stands before Dogflicker, she stretches to try to touch noses with her new mentor. She feels like she is supposed to say something, though she isn't sure what she should say. "Um, hello." She says in the end. It comes out a little awkward.

More than enough moons...is that all you could think of?' He had been wanting an apprentice now that his kits were out of the nursery and his second set of kits were as well (being apprenticed today actually as well) but hearing Pikestar refer to him as being a suitable replacement because he was old? 'You're older than I am you dumb blue bastard.' And now he was starting to inner-monologue like the guy, how irritating! The dark tom looked around for his new apprentice, single orange eye narrowed until he spotted the chocolate figure amidst the other prattling youth - in the distance he heard Jackdawpaw shrieking about rocks and sent a small prayer to the older tom who was stuck with the little blue furball, he was a handful that one. On strong, steady steps he found his way across from Curlpaw, glancing down to regard the smaller cat with some scrutiny before nodding slowly, "We start in the morning, dawn patrol. Be awake on time." He did not tolerate lateness and he did not tolerate his time being wasted.
With a curt nod he turned and started to make his way over to the nursery to help Hazecloud move her nest back into the warrior den next to his and Lichentuft's before he had to listen to her dramatic caterwauling.
