Rowanpaw is a small russet furred she cat with black socks and black tipped ears.[1]
Rowan, although young, has a firm and somewhat strict sense of morality and justice. She's fiercely loyal to her clan, having never belonged anywhere before in her life. She's very eager to impress the older cats, wanting to prove herself to be a worthy warrior. She's clever and quick, but that can work against her too– sometimes she acts before thinking, and says things she shouldn't say out loud. Her strict sense of morality can make her hard to argue with, as she can struggle to understand other's points of view if it conflicts with her worldview.

PRE-COLONY ✎
Rowan was born in newleaf and had three littermates. Her mother was a rogue, and so was her father, although she never met him as he left before she was born. She has a brother, Maple, who was born some moons before her although to a different father. Her mother was ill even before giving birth, and only gets worse, and soon her littermates too fall sick– it's not very long before they die, leaving her and Maple alone together.
Maple takes care of her the best he can, teaching her to hunt, and when a young fox stumbles upon their den, Maple manages to fight it off. He'd almost killed it, but Rowan told him to let it go. After the attack, they decide they have to leave in case the fox comes back with its mother. They travel together for a couple of moons before stumbling across the colony, which they decide to join.
COLONY ✎
When she joins the colony, she becomes good friends with Lovebug. She tries to help out where she can, but being so young, had to depend often on the kindness of others and her older brother.
The night before the battle, she and Lovebug sneak away from the colony to get hunting in the night. After having been encouraged by Serpent, Rowan tries to climb a tree, but makes a wrong decision and falls, tearing her left ear and spraining her right hind paw. Because of this, on the night of the battle, she's injured and can't easily run away– Maple and Lovebug help her out, but on their way, they're stopped by a grey tom called Crackle, who refuses to let them pass. He tries to kill Rowan, but Maple protects her, and in his anger kills the tom while Rowan watches. This even causes a rift between them, as Rowan thinks he should've let the cat live, while Maple only wanted to protect her and did what he thought was best.
THUNDERCLAN ✎
On the first night in the colony, Rowan is taken to what will become the future medicine cat den, as she's still injured. Hawthorne enters to talk to Serpent, and the two older cats decide to adopt Rowan and Maple into their growing family.
After Thornstar's death and Juniperstar's appointment as leader of Thunderclan, Rowan is given the title of 'paw'. -
Rowanpaw is a small russet furred she cat with black socks and black tipped ears. Her fur is long and fluffy, particularly around her neck and her tail. She's slightly smaller than average, but with big ears. She grooms herself frequently to keep her fur mat free, and hates feeling dirty and so often washes her paws and muzzle.

Rowanpaw's moral alignment is LAWFUL NEUTRAL. She has a strict sense of right and wrong, and finds it hard to bend that sense for others. She likes rules and following them, and has many of her own. She has a strict moral sense. Generally, she's very black and white, and can have a hard time understanding other's point of view if it disagrees with her own perception of something.
She's fiercely loyal and takes great pride in it. Her dedication to Thunderclan is unquestionable. It is the first place where she's felt that she belonged, so she's grown very attached to it.
MAPLEFROST ✎
Rowanpaw and Maplefrost, as the only survivors of their blood family, are very close. For many moons they were all each other knew, and they've now brushed against death twice and avoided it together. But though she loves her brother dearly, she's struggling to come to terms with the fact that he murdered someone to save her, blaming herself for the cat's death.
SERPENTBERRY✎
Rowanpaw is extremely fond of her adopted mother. As her birthmother either did not show that she loved her, or did not love her, having someone choose to be her mother was very meaningful to her.
