There's only two types of people in the world
The ones that entertain, and the ones that observe
- Continued From the Territory Heist -
Each carefully placed step that was made towards the center of the humid and wet rainforest brought two silent bodies ever closer to that permeating smell of fish oil. Tracking the patrol's scent back to their home was easier than finding prey amongst the mud and algae that the pocosin held. Maybe having to sift through the smells of that god forsaken land actually helped in making her tracking more successful, finding the important scents out of the unfamiliar air of the other territories that these 'clans' lived in. If they could really call them that. Why were there so many of these groups popping up recently? Originally it had been just the fractures of the colony but now there was a Riverclan, and a Windclan. For all she knew, there'd be another, maybe named after a tree or something. Whatever the reason for their sudden appearance, at the very least, it made for a perfect opportunity to take what they had collected for themselves.
The overwhelming scent of fish layered with multiple individuals was the first sign that they had made it to their target. Tall reeds stood strong against the would be invaders and the light bubbling of a stream around the island made Jadethorn paise in her movements, lip pulling back in a silent snarl as she realized their silence might need to be broken to enter. It was then that her companion whispered on the wind, words dancing against her ear. A distraction. Oh, how she adored Cherryblaze. A certain spice that very well was needed in the mix of lazy and strange clanmates that they had been forced to mingle with in the past few moons. They had always been firey, always willing to do what they wanted without worry for the consequences. Fun and entertainment always seemed to follow the cat whereever they went and the molly always enjoyed taking the time to sit down and gossip with the tortoiseshell whenever she had a chance. Although it wasn't as often as she liked since they had been stuck to the nusery, having to raise and take care of their own little gremlins.
But they were here now and they had suggested something perfect. The silent snarl quickly turned into a smirk at their words, not risking a response (the less words they spoke outloud, the better) but giving them a slow and delibrate nod. Yes. A distraction would give Jadethorn the opportunity to slip under the sleeping cats' radars, able to skulk into their home with ease. The molly made a step forward, pressing her crown against Cherryblaze's own as a sign of companionship and trust, before stepping away. She knew she could rely on them. She only hoped that they got out alive and mostly uninjured so they could enjoy a meal and some gossip when they got back to their mud covered land. With one last glance towards the tortoiseshell, the rosette tabby pulled away from them and circled around to a bush that carried a heavy scent, tucking underneath it to watch and wait for the signal to strike.
