{$title} Following treatment from Swallowbreeze, Ptarmigan is finally starting to recover and is spending some time sunbathing in camp!
———————————— You're not meant to sing along, it isn't that kind of song. ✦
It had been... 17 days since Ptarmigan found this place. While they still had more time to recover, remaining firmly in the medicine den made them feel rather cramped and antsy. Small spaces unnerved them, but Swallowbreeze agreed fresh air would help their chest, but not to go far.
So, they set up comfortably right by the medicine den, they wouldn't do anything to make themself feel worse, though anything they could have didn't feel particularly appealing. They were simply content. For the first time in a very long time, they felt like they could breathe without a wheeze, and while they still couldn't seem to stop this pestering congestion, it was better than it had been.
Under the sun, it wasn't painful, not like they were sweating out the little water they retained, and even if they had been, cats had been very kindly bringing them water. And food! That first mouse they had to be warned not to eat so fast, but the hunger in their belly was hard to ignore. But that was gone now. They were just... Content. Comfortable. Safe...
The semblance of a smile tugging at their lips fell with that thought. It had been a lovely couple of weeks. They felt almost ashamed to admit it, they had a duty to their colony, but they felt safer here than they ever did at home. Cats looked at them with kind eyes and warm smiles. It was a foreign concept at first, a smile without a price. Kindness without a debt. Even now, there was an unsettled feeling, like any moment they would have the nest pulled from under them. Expected to pay back what they owed and be cast out to return to their colony.
That feeling made their stomach turn, maybe... Maybe they should go before they're forced to. Make it easier on everyone, especially for those who had seemed to grow atta-
A presence in their vision made their racing mind stop in their tracks, craning their head up to see a clan member. "Oh, hello. I-I'm not in your way am I?" Immediately, they grew nervous, thinking they had blocked something important off. Why else would someone approach them?
