Lavenderkit parts her lips in a yawn, the coolness of the night tugging on her eyelids. Her mother has finally given away, promised her one nighttime outting, and not a step more - and the child had been thrilled! That is, until she learned just how much walking they had to do to go from point A to point B (which, from what she understands, is coming up soon) and then point A again. Fatigue already pulls on her limbs, but she finds she's stubborn enough to not ask Lichentuft to carry her home. She will make it to their destination, and she will enjoy every drop of freedom she gets.

The wind changes the scents, if only slightly. She can hear the babble of water again, except this time it's heartier, louder, even. Nothing like the stream that surrounds camp. Lavenderkit perks with the ounces of energy she has left and pushes herself to her toes to see a river up ahead, and a new kind of forest just beyond it. Her breath catches, and she asks her parent, "Are we at... a border?" Which one, she wonders. She has heard both good and bad things about each of the borders, with different kinds of cats on the other side of them all. Another gasp - Will she be meeting any of them tonight?

Treading newly formed paths is a testament to RiverClan's stubborn survival. They would carve out new lives, like the rivers did... beating against the sturdy earth until it gave way to their insistent will. Being padded after by a reflection of her mother, Lavenderkit is so much like her in more than just appearance... lovingly stubborn and excited about seeing her dreams fulfilled. Lichentuft is woefully prepared to say no to the beating of eyelashes begging for exploration and so she'd allowed it... after the sun had set when the world was quiet. When she couldn't stumble under the feet of others doing their work.

She is surprised, to say the least, that her daughter makes it this far without complaint... without a demand to be hoisted up and brought to her destination so she might have fresh paws to romp around with. Instead, she charges on with an eager breath, asking if they've arrived. "You're correct," they answer simply, pale eyes flicking across the water's surface to look for signs of the neighboring clan's presence. "Over there, is ThunderClan."
