youkai is an old soul at heart with bones that never healed quite right over the years and hair bleeding white before he reached his 50s. he believes he's a sinner unworthy of salvation, carrying ghosts and demons like vultures to a carcass waiting for death to knock on his door to take him to damnation. he's diplomatic most times with folk he isn't real fond of, keeping up appearances until far out of earshot, knowing damn well how much people can get under your skin.

he's too old for drama and sure as hell hates people buttering their wounds to save his feelings. just tell him, damnit. he ain't dead yet. youkai's got a commanding presence; someone to turn to and know things will work out in the end. he's calm, borderline aloof, if not unwelcoming to most folk with a warm, guttural, fatherly drone of his timbre. he's real closed off about his emotions, but youkai isn't one to shy away from others needing a comforting presence, taking charge in difficult situations, or taking the brunt of things if they go south. he's someone people can count on during troubling times, protective and downright ruthless when he's got something to protect, willing to throw his life away to keep the buggers safe.

youkai doesn't trust easily, and he'll watch newcomers like a hawk watching prey until they prove themselves. if he can't trust them, then don't let the door hit you on the way out and best believe he'll make it damn clear if you go near his crew or family, it'll be the last you'll ever see the sunrise. he values loyalty and determination more than anything else and he'll best rise to the challenge to fit whatever role is needed to get the job done—gruesome or not.
