AKEMI x BUB / AKEMI x CLAW, a Riverclan Litter
You can have all the love you want, but what will it cost you? Akemi has been living happily alongside her two lovers, Bub and Claw, in their home, far beyond the twolegplace. Alongside her the cats she adores the most, she's as happy as she thinks she ever can be. But jealousy and distrust threaten to tear her perfect life apart.

When her belly begins to swell with kittens, tensions begin to grow. Who could the father be? She's taken neither Claw or Bub as a proper mate. When pressed for answers, Akemi just laughs. 'It's a secret! We'll find out when the kittens are born.' To her, the parentage of her kittens doesn't matter nearly as much as the knowledge that they'll be born into a loving family.

Not everyone agrees. Half a moon after her announcement, Bub returns to camp, gravely wounded, carrying Claw's cold body. His own wounds take him soon after. The tension over the kits true father hard broken into a bloody argument, in which there were no winners.

Akemi mourns over the bodies of her lovers, but she knows she can't stay long. The rest of her colony watch her with resentful, disgusted gazes. 'It's all her fault, then. If she had just chosen one tom... She shouldn't have been so greedy.'

Pregnant and mourning, Akemi is driven from her home, into the old twoleg shipyard. The weather is growing cold, quickly. She'll need to find somewhere to stay...

RULES & REQUIREMENTS

Please verify names are not taken on the PREFIX CLAIM prior to committing to an app! You should reserve the name you pick just in case until kits are chosen!

  • NOT FCFS.
  • Bub and Claw will father one kitten each! If you want, you can make one kitten/design for each father.
  • Akemi will be moving into Riverclan a few weeks before the kits are born, and taking on the name 'Warmglow'
  • Please only submit a kitten if you plan on keeping them active! I don't need like, 10 posts every month, but I'd really like to keep them on the census.
  • Kittens that go inactive soon after birth (like, before apprentice-hood) might be replaced with another applicant. Sorry! I just dont want any babies disappearing into the aether.
  • Applications close October 30th

RELATIONS

Kits are Generation 2.

Although Akemi loves her kittens, their first few moons will be bittersweet. She won't be able to look at her new children without remembering what she lost - and who she wishes could be here with her. Still, she'll do her best to keep a brave face and cheery disposition for her kittens.

As they grow, Akemi is likely to be her kittens biggest cheerleader, giving them enough love for three parents. She provides plenty of support, but is, perhaps, a little hesitant to scold or discipline her children. She will impart a lesson on them, though. 'You can't have everything you want in this world. You're going to have to choose eventually'


Naming Conventions

In Akemi's old home, kittens are given a 'baby name' that holds a wish for their future. A weak kitten may be named 'Big' or 'Lion' in hopes that they grow strong. A kitten born in the winter might be named 'Sunny' or 'Bright' in hopes that they live to see the summer. Adjective names (Cold, Swift, Strong, Proud, Loyal) are common, but anything can be a wish if you want to spin it that way!

(Akemi's baby name was 'Warm'. Her parents thought, because her points grew so dark so fast, she must be very cold!)

Here's some baby prefix ideas! Maybe run these through Name Check before you submit, because idk the legality of all of these, lol

I havent got genetics for the kits yet but im uploading anyways... i am Impatient...

  • Applications for both here! I am fine using names from either app if there's one you like more. Tried to follow your guidelines to the best of my ability and used the hypokits as a guideline for my thoughts. I have no preference between my two apps <3.

    SUNSETKIT / WHIMSYKIT / FAITHKIT / NIGHTKIT​

    This kit would be the female kit! Born between night and day, this kit is likely to receive the Sunset or Night prefix due to their darker fur. Faith and Whimsy are more in regards to wishes, in which her mother wants her to be a dreamer and work hard to achieve her goals. This kit is friendly but overly curious, I could see her having a few brushes with danger due to being morbidly curious and getting too close to things that could hurt her. Close to her mother but also curious about her father, could often question where Bub/her father is and may bring up unwanted memories to her mother. She is close to her sibling, but often feels frustrated that they do not share her desire of wanting to find out more about their past and their parentage.

    This kit would stay in Riverclan UNLESS their mother eventually decided to leave, in which she would follow her mother to wherever she decided to move to --- even if that included being a loner. While she is full of whimsy and wants to adventure, she had trouble making friends without the help of her sibling.

    SUNRISEKIT / WISHKIT / DAYKIT / VICTORYKIT​

    This is the male kit! Born between night and day like his sibling, this kit might receive the Day or Sunrise prefix due to their brighter pelt. Victory and Wish are the wishes his mother has for him, as she believes he is destined for greatness. His mother would be his biggest cheerleader and I could see him fitting more into the "Riverclan" mould, becoming a bit cocky and arrogant and highly focused on his outward beauty. He would be very close to his sibling but he would always try to be better than them, from kithood to apprenticeship. He rarely questions the past and instead focuses on the present, wanting to make a good impression to the high ranks of Riverclan.

    This kit would stay in Riverclan no matter what, while he values his mother, he values his found clan and how they view him heavily. This cat lives on praise, and has more of an outgoing personality --- he makes friends easily and is very personable.
