Open Camp darlin' don't quit your daydream || Snowball "Training" Session

This thread takes place inside the clan's camp.
{$title} Flowercloud tries a new stealth training exercise... Don't get caught!!

Flowercloud never thought she would get here, not where she is now. She had a beautiful family, and though it was small and broken for the moment, surely it was only temporary. She kept her head high, even as her heart broke and shattered, as she met their gaze, and seen ice glaze over Rosepaws features- and pain throughout Cygnetpaws sparkling gaze... She kept that grip of hope tightly. She would talk to them... She would make things right. She just.. she wasn't sure how to get. But she would.

A sigh left her as she glanced around camp, some working at the dens, some munching at prey, sharing tongues with their clanmates... There was a blissfully unaware presence to them, and her gaze caught onto Hawkstar, turned away- an idea crossed her mind, her fluffy body pulling towards a group of younger cats. A glint of mischief passing her gaze as she leaned down and murmured softly. "I have an idea... Call it a training exercise, aye?" The mischief turned to a toothy smirk as she looked at the others, before quickly at Hawkstar. She didn't want her to feel the burn of her gaze, so she focused on them.

"Hawkstar is a vigilant figure... I would like to see how you're guy's training is progressing... Do you guys know how to form snowballs?" The deputy asked, before showing them, scooping a bit of snow and padding it slowly into a ball so that they could see how she formed it. "Now... Your goal is to ambush Hawkstar. This will not only train your stealth, but to help you guys work as a team. Focus on communication through simple gestures... Align yourselves. An ambush can't work properly if you don't work as a team. When you see my cue, and everyone signals they are ready, everyone throw their snowballs at Hawkstar. Got it?"

She grinned, her eyes bright. She felt clever, a tactic to help them communicate silently, and perhaps then, they could communicate better with the deaf Downykit if they start learning these gestures. But, it was all hope, to make none feel excluded, and to also do a small group training session. "Communication is key, remember this..." Especially with someone so wary of their surroundings.

TEASELPAW

Over hill, over dale, through the valley and vale do not weep, do not wail, I am coming home to you

Teaselpaw stared off into the distance, a slight frown creasing their face. They could've sworn they saw someone there, just for a moment. But when they looked again, it was gone, faded away like mist giving way to the morning sun. Confusion tugged at them, but perhaps they were just tired… Shaking off the thought, they flicked an ear and turned toward their mother, their wide, ever-expressive eyes practically bulging. They always seemed caught between fear and wonder.

She spoke of a training exercise. Hitting Hawkstar?

Flustered, Teaselpaw made a small noise, their paws kneading at the ground. Their gaze dropped to the snowball forming beneath their mother's paws, eyes narrowing in curiosity before they leaned down to sniff at it. Cold. Very cold. A tremor ran through them as their nose brushed the icy surface, fluffing out their fur in response. Then their mother spoke again. Communication is... Oh...

They... They didn't really talk, that was bad communication for something like this... Wasn't it? Their tail flicked, thoughtful. Their tail was silent. Their eyes were silent, too. So body language... That could be a voice of its own. Wiggling slightly, they finally began gathering snow, carefully shaping it as they flicked their tail toward Hawkstar, then shifted it to the side to the other apprentices, hopeful, praying they could understand their movements....

What if they surrounded her?

HAWKSTAR, 62 moons / SKYCLAN LEADER
A long-legged short-furred seal point tortie with one electric-blue eye; heavily scarred
Mentoring ROSEPAW ; mother of STARLITPATH
Prone to corporate attitudes, harsh words, hazing practices ; generally morally dubious
Tagging person here

Hawkstar's tail flicked lazily as she laid back, her good eye closed in a contented wink. A temporary rest, a moment captured in the rare warm leaf-bare sun, rare as the times that Hawkstar took to just rest in the open. She could feel her head slipping down down down .... and then settled neatly onto her paws. A nap ... hm, yes, a nap seemed good right about now. Fur fluffed up, ears laid down in a lazed position, whiskers untwitched and tail unfurled, Hawkstar began to snooze lightly as the mid-day sun eeked its way across her chosen sky.

/ an easy target !! roll a 1d20 in the discord, anything higher than a 12 is a hit !

Her ear twitched to hear her deputy's voice. Disdain furrows her brows and she deigns herself to listen, unwilling to earn a cuff to the ear for family squabbles. The molly's voice lowers as she scoops some snow up and explains the name of the game: to startle their leader. A sense of alarm flashes in her eyes, no different to their sibling's. Cygnetpaw looks over her shoulder at the happily dozing Hawkstar and grimaces.

When Flowercloud sends them off, the predominantly white molly mutters, "Who's ready for tick duty?" For, surely, interrupting their leader's quiet time will provide them each with a new, dastardly chore. Her hip bumps Teaselpaw's gently, waiting for her sibling's signal. Her paws feel fidgety, shifting side to side with a rare sense of anxiety. As she waits, she tries to form a ball of snow, and can't quite get it right.

TEASELPAW

Over hill, over dale, through the valley and vale do not weep, do not wail, I am coming home to you

Teaselpaw met Cygnetpaw's gaze solemnly as their sister bumped against them, offering a small nod before inhaling softly. Tick duty... right. If they could catch Hawkstar off guard, that would be good, wouldn't it? A successful sneak attack meant effective training. But… would their leader appreciate being rudely awakened from a nap in the sun? Maybe. Maybe not. Still, training was training. And perhaps Hawkstar would even praise them for their...

Success…

Or failure…

Teaselpaw gave a quick shake of their fur, pushing away the thought. They crouched low, creeping forward, eyes narrowing as they calculated the distance. They didn't want to aim too high or hurt their leader. So… the leg? Steadying themself, they wiggled slightly, adjusting their stance. Then... Quick as a breath, they launched the snowball.

Thwack.

Straight to Hawkstar's hip. Oh. Oh.That was a leg. Technically. But not what they were aiming for. Teaselpaw squeaked, stiffening as their fur fluffed up in alarm. They quickly sat upright, ears flattening slightly as they flicked a wide-eyed glance at Flowercloud. Was… that good? Was that done well?

Or…

They hesitated, breath catching, before cautiously shifting their gaze to Hawkstar, waiting... dreading... curious to see how their leader would react.
