{$title} it sure is breezy here i sure hope nothing bad happens
Always felt this could get dark
Held on 'cause things change fast

Before the fire she always dreamed of going on her own adventures, but now that day seemed like it would never come. She only wanted to get away from the brittle tension that lingered in camp. Things still weren't better with Merrystalk and Sassafras, and her attempts to resolve it by talking to Merrystalk had gone up in smoke. She was frustrated with him—with Sassy—with everyone who sat on their tails when it happened—and especially with herself.
Meadow waited until everyone was busy before slipping out. She usually asked when she wanted to leave camp, but today didn't even give them the chance to offer... E if she did feel a little guilty at the thought of worrying them. Meadow knew they cared about her and that was why they worried. But after the fire and the fight with Sassy and Merry, she felt powerless. Meadow was afraid of losing anyone else, but she could do nothing to preserve what was closest to her heart. She loved them, but right now she couldn't stand to be near them.
They treated her like a kit and shielded her from even the slightest inconvenience, but she didn't want that. She wanted to be able to stand on her own paws, even if she was one less. Meadowpaw couldn't stand the thought of spending her entire life relying on them, especially when she could give so little in return…
She moved as fast as her remaining paws would carry her, the moor swallowed her up as she pushed farther than she usually dared go alone. Meadowpaw didn't stop until her breath was ragged and their scents faded into the wind. From there she walked… and walked… until the grass opened into rockier terrain.
Meadow heard the wind tearing through it before she saw it. A great yawning chasm—a wound in the ground. The wind that tore through it howled like some sort of beast and as she drew closer it tugged sharply at her fur.
Below, the roar of water surged, rushing in pulses that echoed endlessly off the jagged rock walls. The sound swallowed everything else, even her thoughts. She wanted to know how deep it went, but she tried to be careful. Her paws scraped against the stone as she inched toward the edge.
