DAISYNOSE
——————————It had snowed. Again. Daisynose padded from the warrior's den with a shiver. She was cold, and she was tired, her attention being stretched thin between being a new mentor, patrols, Guppysplash, and just... Living with grief. She knew, deep in her heart, she'd been neglecting Pineconekit. Her sister's grief was a heavy burden on her shoulders, one she struggled to carry. She wanted to be a good sister, to be there for fae every waking moment, to wipe her tears when they flowed. But it was hard. Harder than it should have been. Grief was strange and cold and lonely, and, pressing her paws into the freshly-fallen snow, she wished things could be different.
But they couldn't. Their fathers were dead. She was the only family Pinecone had left. It was a heavy burden, but one she had to carry.
Daisynose glanced around. She wasn't due for a patrol until later in the day. She'd let Hollypaw sleep in, and she would spend the morning with Pinecone. With a nod of resolve, she bounded towards the nursery. She poked her head in first, eyes adjusting to the darkness within, then padded in noiselessly so as not to disturb the caretakers and their kits. She nudged her sister gently in the side with a small smile. "Come play with me," she mewed simply, gaze warm.
