✪ Align my Heart, my Body, my Mind

indentDustystar wakes up coughing and sputtering. She lifts her head, water draining from her mouth and dripping from her whiskers. Weary and disoriented, the leader rises from her nest. Her fur is wet and cold. It takes a second for her sleep-addled mind to catch up to what's happening. Her den has flooded. Dirty rainwater rushes in, mixing debris and waste with the bedding of her nest, creating a disgusting slurry.

indentPushing past the flow, Dustystar escapes the rapidly filling leader's den, only to discover that the rest of the camp is hardly faring any better. The tall, thick grasses that line the camp can do little to protect it from such a powerful torrent. Water rushes in unbidden, saturating the dirt before draining into the burrows. It won't be long before the burrows fill, and the water in the rest of camp begins to rise, engulfing anyone still sleeping within.

indentGreen eyes nervously flit to the Medicine den, Nursery, and back to the center of camp. Dustystar knows they must be filling just as quickly as her own den. The other burrows are reserved for the young and the sickly, both of which Windclan has plenty of. The idea of little lungs filling with water makes her heart churn. She wants to go and clear the kittens out, make sure Meadowpaw and her patients are okay, but the heavy flow of water stops her in her tracks. Wading to the other side of camp will waste precious time. She'll have to put her trust in Honeyflower and Dimmingsun to handle the other dens - she has warriors here that need her.

indent"Everyone!" The young leader croaks, through the water in her throat. "There's a flood, we need high ground!" As quickly as she can, Dustystar moves through the mud to the closest group of cats still sleeping. Desperate, she pushes a sleeping body with her paw, smearing mud on their pelt. "Get up! We can't stay here!" Grabbing by the scruff, she hauls a sleeping cat to their paws and urges them to move.

flood thread for the main camp. Anyone is welcome to be the cat that Dusty grabs!

I'm a young soul in this very strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake
But why all this hate? Try to communicate
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make

At first, Weaselchirp dreamed she was swimming. The world was dark and cool and soft, and her paws paddled through it lazily. Then the coolness crept higher. Her whiskers twitched. Her nose filled with cold and muck. She sputtered violently as the taste of muddy water hit her tongue, and her eyes snapped open wide, glowing orange in the dim chaos.

" Pft-- PTHHHT! I didn't ask for a bath! " she yowled, half indignation, half disbelief, shaking her head so hard that droplets flew everywhere. Her nest sloshed beneath her paws, soggy and sinking. " How rude! Who decided the floor should be water? " A wave sloshed into her chest, and the reality of it hit her like a stone. The camp... It was flooding. Rain. Water where no water should be. Her ears flattened, fur slick and heavy as she scrambled upright. " Oh stars above and under-- " she muttered, trying to lift her paws, her steps splashing in messy rhythm as she staggered toward the movement she saw ahead.

She collided nose-first into Dustystar, blinking water from her eyes. " Dustystar! " she gasped out, then shook herself like a bird. " You're drenched! I'm drenched! Everyone's drenched! We must wake them, yes, yes, wake them! " she urged quickly, eyes darting around the half-submerged camp. Her voice rose, sharp and cutting through the rush of water. " Wake up! Wake up! The place is drowning, the nests are swimming, OUT, out! " she yowled at the top of her lungs, tail lashing with fierce energy.

She spun toward one side of camp, where she knew her mate's scent lingered. " Pumpkinspice! " she screeched, voice cracking. " You best get that pretty fur of yours to high ground before it washes away! " she barked out before swirling around to try and find her friends and apprentice. " Cloverbloom! Hollowmumble! Slugpaw! If your paws still work, move them! " Her chest heaved, water up to her knees now as she waded toward the nearest nest still showing faint movement. " Come on, up, up!! Oh this is awful, we'll smell like pondweed for moons... " she muttered, but her paws stayed steady, bracing another cat to their feet. " Out, yes, go, go, go! Find higher ground! "

Then, looking back to Dustystar with her soaked whiskers twitching, she barked out between heavy breaths. " You pull the ones that can't wake fast, Weaselchirp will shout the rest of the moor awake, yes? We'll not lose anyone to a puddle today! "

It's cold. So cold, compared to the fire. It settles somewhere above, it's eye staring down at him, where his paws are churning to try and keep his head above water. It's hot and cold and he's so, so tired of paddling and fighting the current. He gives in- head sinks beneath water, it fills his lung, the burns are creeping back--

Dustystar's muddy paw smears against his cheek, and he's sitting upright, coughing water. Bleary eyes lift to her, then drop to the ground that's dampening swiftly. His teeth grit. "Well, shit." He spits out, pushing to his paws. He's taller then Dustystar, and the mud on his cheek is simply beginning to wash off from the rest of the driving rain. Weaselchirp is already doing an excellent job telling people to move, but he needs to give instructions.

He inhales, and booms out louder then the rest- "WINDCLAN!" His voice, he hopes, carries like a sharp whip driving cattle, like the crack of lightning and thunder not far from here. "The camp is flooding! Head towards higher ground. Do NOT wait! Do NOT go back for personal items!" He shouts. Goldenroar prays nothing goes wrong. His head turns- Merrystalk is off towards the apprentice's den, Weaselchirp is searching for those anywhere in camp. Goldenroar moves, looking for any senior or elders that need help, focusing on using his weight to help bigger cats up and out of their nests in the meantime.

As soon as Weaselchirp's voice roused Cloverbloom, she was on her feet, looking around in spite of the rain blurring her vision. Remains of something that may have been her nest, looking soft but waterlogged, floated by her as she followed the shapes she could make out and kept her ears perked up for voices as it all sank in. Heavy rains, flooding... the whole camp flooding before their eyes, threatening to wash away any who didn't get up and away fast enough. For once, she was staring down a problem that she couldn't just run off to a tunnel and be away from, but had to face head-on whether she wanted to or not.

Fighting against the weight of her sodden fur, she followed the nearest familiar voice until a dark, large-earred cat came into view. She raised her tail in greeting and waded as fast as she could through the rising waters. Her former mentor seemed to be yowling an echo of the leader's and deputy's warnings as she helped other cats get up and escape - it seemed like the best thing to do was help with the search. She turned away and took off in a different direction, willing her voice to carry as far as she could make it. "The camp's flooding! Everyone get to high ground!"

CHICKENSCRATCH, She/Her / 56 moons / Windclan Warrior
Long hair Amber 'blue' molly with flame point / short hair cream tabby chimera with golden eyes
Daughter of HOOT, Sibling of OWL(BEAR)
Super chill and a good listener, tends to look on the bright side wherever possible (maybe even a bit too much), almost always gives other cats silly nicknames so... Prepare yourself

Chickenscratch was having quite a calm dream, watching some landscape from a higher perch in a tree that just reminded her of what her father would be doing almost every day. It was pleasant, even if the landscape in her slumbering consciousness was being rained on quite steadily. It was peaceful, really.

Then why did she hear a whole lot of yowling and yelling?

"Mrrp?" Chickenscratch awoke with a bleary start, snapped into reality within mere seconds she quickly stood up to view the clan before her was in panic and disarray. She was resting on the higher side of camp so the water hadn't quite reached her just yet but it was certainly about to if she didn't start moving, or others might be swept away if she didn't start doing something.

There were some cats nearby that weren't quite awake, so she did her best to yank them away from the water and wake them up as well before facing the rest of the camp. Goldy did well to be an anchor, Merry hurried off to the apprentices, and soon after that Comet had bolted off towards the nursery alongside his brother Eclipse. She trusted them to get to Owlbear and her little birdies on her behalf since she was too far away to reach them with good pace.

So, she had to make the best of where she was and what she could do in this situation. "Up here, you lot! Come get this'a way 'fore you get swept up!" She kept calling out and helping any cat that came to her up and toward safety. While not as loud as the call from Goldy or directed as Clover, she kept going- she chose to be a constant sound through the storm as best as she could be. She would not stop trying to guide her clanmates with her voice unless it ran hoarse and she had nothing left to give.

OOC: Feel free to be any of the cats that she's lending a paw to!! :3
