APPEARANCE Reedsplash is a rather leggy cat with small paws. They seem to have a rather neutral expression most of the time, though when they do emote they have a very expressive face. Their fur is short and sleek, with a silky soft texture. It lengthens at the tip of their tail, and slightly on their neck, chest, and belly. Their ears are very tall, and end in tufts. Their eyes are a bright blue, with a thin white ring around them. They have a rather long muzzle, a long tail, and long legs. Overall they trend towards the thin side of things, and are of a slightly above average height.

PERSONALITY Reedsplash is a complex cat with strange mannerisms and emotions. While they're usually silent as the grave, they're known to be extremely loyal to those they feel deserve it. They treat others with a gentle kindness that seems out of place with their distant and timid nature; and are almost always ready to lend a helping paw. Despite that, they have a tendency to be deceptive, with a focus on themself. No, they aren't injured. They aren't hungry. They aren't tired. They would never lie about something that they thought affected someone else, only about their own condition, thoughts, and feelings. Better to maintain the peace than to express themself and get into a mess. However, on rare occasions [or when they get comfortable with someone] they let their sarcastic humor shine.

It's so much safer to be miserable, but liked, than it is to be a happy pariah. Why risk their life and place in the clan for something so insignificant as their feelings? But everyone has their limits.

HISTORY Who they were born to and why is a question Reedsplash has asked themself for the majority of their life. They had a mother, they can faintly remember her in flashes of soft grey fur and soothing words. They must have had a second parent, all cats did, didn't they? But all they remember is the warmth of their mother, and the betrayal they felt when she left. Whispered apologies came softly through a harsh, barking cough. They didn't understand then, why she left. Now that they're older they've felt the gut-wrenching horror at the realization that she was sick. They've decided to just not think about it.

They were mostly old enough to survive, what with New Leaf beginning to blossom. Even if it was mostly on bugs and mice that must not have known what danger was. They didn't really know how to hunt, relying on instinct, luck, and thievery to get by until they got bigger. That was when they found the ship cats. There they learned to hunt properly. To fish and swim, and to be resourceful. They never really spoke to anyone, they simply watched, practiced on their own, and learned the hard way. They didn't even have a name.

It made sense to follow the others to Riverclan, if only because they'd grown used to the idea of a group. When they were not only welcomed, but named they knew they'd found their home.

  Reedsplash will not start fights AND will not end fights. He will usually flee AND will show mercy.
  
  In battles, Reedsplash excels at dodging, but is poor at enduring blows. They are dexterous and quick, relying on their ability to dodge attacks rather than their strength. Their goal in any fight is to flee, but if pushed, they'll use whatever underhanded tactics they can to get their opponent to leave them alone. Be it kicking sand in the face, diving underneath a taller cat, or even jumping over a smaller one, they really dislike fighting.
  
  Reedsplash'a voice is soft, and often halting. They speak infrequently, and there are many who have never heard them speak at all. They often smell like cool water and petrichor.

• Reedsplash was born to parents they don't really remember and is a first generation RiverClanner. They have no siblings. They held a deep resentment for their mother for a long time, but as they've grown older they appreciate the sacrifice she made to give them the best chance at life.
  
  Reedsplash is single. A partner or partners would be fun, but they likely wouldn't make the first move.
