the dog that weeps after it kills is no better than the dog that doesn't. my guilt will not purify me.
"Nearly there, kiddo." Duskpool rumbled, glancin' at the young apprentice trailin' behind him. "Figured I'd teach ya the basics about defensive fightin' if there comes a time I ain't there." He grunted. The ex-sun guard paused, sweepin' a wooly plumage across the unfamiliar terrain, mist still obscurin' most of their vision as the clan settled for the night.
He figured it'd be an excellent opportunity to test the young tom's hearing too.
It'd also give the older warrior some peace of mind before gettin' any deeper into the long journey, knowin' the youngster had some trainin' if the male wasn't there. It'd give him a better chance than becomin' a sittin' duck. Duskpool sure as hell ain't gonna let that happen. Not while he was still kickin'. Mentor or not, Duskpool had taken Zuko under his wing and he'd be damned if anythin' touched a hair on the kid's head.
He breathed tiredly, shakin' out wooly fur, bulky muscle rippin' beneath scarred skin. "Now what can ya tell me about defensive fightin'?" He inquired, timbre monotonous as he pivoted, peerin' down at the young apprentice with a narrowed molten hue.
