Lilacbird was conscious enough to push forward, to save her mother- but her lungs hurt with each breath, sore from the weight of the water. Her side was pained and scraped, and her leg was bloodsoaked- but it wasn't that bad. She would remind herself, it wasn't that bad, because they were alive. She wasn't sure if Littlebrook woke yet, and time ticked by slowly as exhaustion swept over the young molly as she rest her chin on her paws.

Small ears were folded back, breath shaky but solid. She waited patiently for Jinglemoon, and tried to stay positive. Her mother would be fine, everything would work out. It had to. It had to, she repeated with shaky anxious breaths. But when Jinglemoon finally approached her- her head lifted to fast, feeling dizzy as she blinked and focused her gaze on the medicine cat. "P-please, is my m-mom okay...?" She asked, lips quivering as she stuttered out her words, gaze casting to where her mother still hadn't woken. At least not that she noticed...

She didn't want bad news....

She finally broke her fear, she finally did something right, did something good. This starclan... They wouldn't take her mother from her too right? Her gaze did not fully meet Jinglemoons, it never met anyone's, but she watched his features intently, hopeful.

DINGO
There was a sense of relief now that both Lilacbird and Littlebrook were in the safety of the medicine den but now came the real task of patching up what had been hurt, fixing what had been broken and finding out exactly what had gone wrong for the two to have been found the way that they were. When Jinglemoon padded back into the den with some fresh moss he'd quickly nipped out to collect, to his surprise Lilacbird was awake, he'd set the moss down and hurriedly approach her nest as she lifted her head up upon his approach-- "Hey hey, take it easy don't move so quickly, you'll make yourself dizzy!" His tone was gentle but there was a slight edge of worry to it.

Lilac's concern though laid with the condition of Littlebrook and he'd cast his blue gaze to the other cats' nest where she still lay unconscious-- But still alive. "I'll make sure she will be" He'd softly answer with eventually as he looked back to Lilacbird, she looked so scared it made his heart ache and his whiskers droop. "She's just resting right now, I'll make sure to wake you when she wakes up, okay? I promise you'll be the first cat to know right after me" He'd mew with a gentle smile, hoping the other cat wouldn't work herself up too much in stressing over Littlebrook, her own recovery might suffer from such strain... "You just let me worry about her for now if you can, alright?"

He noted too that Lilacbird's gaze didn't ever truly meet his own and he'd settle down to sit beside her nest, pulling over the new moss he had brought in earlier as he looked over her bloodsoaked leg. "Can you tell me a bit about what happened? Did either of you swallow any water from the river?" It would help him in aiding them both to know exactly what had happened before he and the others arrived to bring them into camp, he could garner a few things given their injuries but the more hidden injuries were easier to discern from being told about what had occurred that caused the injuries in the first place. "From what I can tell, you were very brave Lilacbird" Littlebrook would no doubt be proud and would say as much once she woke up, he was sure of that!

Lilacbirds widened eyes relaxed as she tried to focus on her breathing, as she brought her paws in to her chest and tried to settle. Jinglemoon spoke softly, encouragingly. But he wasn't wrong- she had made herself a bit dizzy, and her ears flattened as he seemed to call it out like it was obvious. She was just concerned- she didn't expect having fallen asleep, she didn't expect, well any of it.

Her heart fluttered against her chest like butterflies, but her breaths slowly calmed. He promised to ensure her mom's health, he promised she'd be the first to know when Littlebrook would wake... But her saddened gaze cast to her mom. Her ears still folded back, and her lips quivered- but she tried her best to hold herself together. She curled her puffy tail against her sore leg, before looking back towards Jinglemoon, the blue tufts of his cheeks, meeting the creamy colours..

Jinglemoon asked what had happened- and the lilac molly fumbled over her thoughts- trying painfully to recollect the memories that felt more distant than they should've. He said he thought her brave, and Lilacbird dropped her gaze to her small paws. She had never been brave... But she had to be this one time. Could she do it again? She wasn't sure.

"It's... Hard not to worry. Y-you know how, um... I jump the river wh-when I can? Well... She.. she t-told me she'd j-j-jump too, and um. She slipped. I think. I landed, t-turned my head- and her body hit the water. I-" she gulped, a hard swallow down her throat as she pressed herself into the mossy nest. "When.. when she d-didnt gain control of th-the tides... It- it reminded me of losing my b-brother, I.. I couldn't lose my mom. I.. I jumped in after her. She was unc-con-consious, already and- and I cut my leg at some point. I-i... I.. my mom's been helping me t-try to get to not be scared of water... B-but this was the worst way t-to try." She tried to joke, try to lighten the mood- but her smile fell as she glanced over to her mom, before finally lifting her gaze back up to Jinglemoon.

"At... At least I was able t-to help quick enough..." She mumbled more softly than she already spoke. "Th-there weren't mentors before I reached twelve moons.. th-that came after. I.. don't really know swimming... But at least... um and oh- We.. well I d-did swallow water- is. Is that bad?"
