{$title} Help with repairs or simply enjoy (or not so much) the rain!

The past few days left the camp soaked through. Small puddles turned into engorged stream beds that spilled over into camp. The woven structures that Peachtrot and the others put together were getting put through the ringer. After the first few showers, they were tinged with a persisting musty dampness.

It hadn't let up much since earlier that morning, and Adderfang curled tightly in his nest to wait out the worst of it—as well as catch up on rest before the next patrol. When he'd drifted off, it was to the battering of rain on the woven roof and the wind whistling through the reeds. Maybe he was more tired than he thought because despite the storm's tantrum, sleep came easy.

The steady rise and fall of his chest were interrupted by a burst of cold water dousing him from above. He jolted awake with a choked growl, claws flexing into the soggy moss beneath him. There was a split second Adderfang thought he was back that shed—The panic surged through him, and it wasn't until his eyes adjusted and he took in the interior of the warrior den that he allowed himself to relax.

A rasp of relief left him, and he lifted weary eyes to the ceiling. Another fat droplet struck him across the muzzle. Lo and behold—a bright spot overhead where the storm had worn a hole clean through the roof. He blinked at it for a long moment, water sliding slowly down his chin. A steady rhythm of more drops followed, each as irritating as the last.

Seemed that was the end of his nap.

Grumbling under his breath, Adderfang pushed himself upright, peeling from his nest like a wet leaf. Damp fur clinging to his sides. The rain had eased to a drizzle by now—not pleasant, but manageable enough to work in. Still, he couldn't help the loud sigh that escaped him as he stepped out into camp.

Now that he had a proper look around, the storm damage was obvious. A few dens other dens sagged with water weight, and others had new gaps that would need patching. Adderfang exhaled through his nose and dragged through flooded ground toward the reedbeds to begin collecting what was needed to start the repairs.

Let's play like we're children and sing till the moons full

Before the day we turn to nothing but sand

While the rain was a new constant in their home, it was rare that it kept going. For a few days now, the clouds had filled the sky, diluted sunlight seeping through the thickness to cover the ground in a haze of grey fog. The droplets ebbed and flowed, picking up for a few hours with a whistle of wind before dying back down to a drizzle once again. Many of Peachtrot's clanmates were probably huddled up in dens and under trees, avoiding the trickling wetness that the sky dropped. To the red molly, however, the long days of rain were something enjoyable. It brought her back to her days on the ship, cresting over giant waves as they sailed through storm after storm for days on end.

With most of the clan avoiding the wet weather, Peachtrot had taken it upon herself to do a quick walk along the riverside. The rain sometimes made the fish more active, the droplets tricking them into thinking there were bugs to eat near the surface, and the molly wanted to take the chance to refill some of the fresh-kill pile. Her short time on the hunt rewarded her with a leaflet of small fish. Although they arent the size to share, it was still a good enough haul and the smaller fish could be used to wean kits onto more solid food. All in a days work, after all! What she didnt expect, however, was coming back to a mess unlike she had seen before.

She stepped through the entrance to find pieces of folded reeds strewn about the island, dens caved in from the moisture that had permeated through them after days upon days of wetness. Ocean eyes saw her fellow council member, Adderfang, sorting through the reeds, no doubt for some supplies to start the task of repairing. Always making sure things got done in a timely manner, that tom. But there was no way he'd be able to do it himself! And Peachtrot would make sure he wouldnt have to.

Dropping off the leaflet onto the soaked pile (hopefully the rain kept the fish fresh for longer...), the molly turned her attention to the ticked tom as she called over to him. "You look like you could use a paw, Addy-fang!" The smallest of giggles escaped at her nickname for him, although she could already hear his protest that she was sure would come. The red molly bounded up to him, picking out the best reeds along with him to make the pile a little larger. "I didn't realize the rain had weakened the pattern so much! I'll make sure to check them in the future, before anyone gets awakened by a sudden waterfall, WHOOSH!" Another small laugh, not knowing that Adderfang had already been victim to exactly that, before she took her jawful of reeds and went to the closest den, which happened to be the one the tom had been sleeping in, to investigate the damage before she started.

Frostmoth isn't sure he will ever get fully used to the daily rainstorms that have become part of RiverClan life. And he doesn't think he's alone in that regard either. Many RiverClanners- unless they are assigned to the dawn patrols- choose to wait out the morning rainfall instead of sharing tongues in the early morning. And Frostmoth takes no issue with this. In fact, he is among them; laying quietly and trying to get rest before he is forced to get up and do his daily duties in the rain. It's bad enough that he has to leave and come back just to make sure the dawn patrol is in proper order. Admittedly, he never puts himself up to lead these patrols when the morning finds itself wrapped in rain.

The bicolor tomcat is curled up in his warm, dry nest next to Stormswirl's, having barely gotten a disgruntled word from his sister for already coming and going early this morning. Frostmoth isn't even privy to the den being saturated with rainwater until Adderfang has been drenched and is exasperatedly rising to take care of the problem. In his grogginess, Frostmoth raises his head just in time to see the flooding continue through the warriors' den towards him. He stands and gently rustles Stormswirl, though she's unlikely to be very happy either way.

Frostmoth joins Peachtrot and Adderfang by the semi-dry collection of reed fronds. "It's alright Peachtrot. The weaving held strong for a long time. Maybe more layers...?" He reassures the guard with a small smile, sifting through the pile himself to collect long and strong reeds. He figures this will be his task for the morning: assisting Peachtrot in reinforcing and patching up the rainsoaked dens.

"IF YOU DON'T GET OUT RIGHT NOW -" Louder than the rush of rainfall now limited to a gentle trickle, Lavenderkit skirts out of the nursery as if her tail is on fire. She hadn't seen Adderfang and the rest, much less saw how the warriors' den buckled and broke beneath the weight of collected showers. Instead, the young molly had opened her own dual toned eyes when a few droplets splashed against her nose. After looking up, and seeing the swelling that occurred to the topmost point of their den, she took it upon herself to save her fellow nursery mates. "- YOU'RE GOING TO GET SOAKED!"

She says it with incredulous intensity... as if she isn't standing directly in the rain, her soft curls already pulled down by gravity. She hardly notices her own position in the early drizzle, even as she continues to try and rally the nursery. "C'mon, c'mon!" Her gaze flicks over her shoulder, catching to the warriors as they attempt to fix their den. Understanding flickers to life in her gaze - whatever they just witnessed will surely happen soon to her den. They need to make these things stronger! Perhaps she's just the molly to fix that issue.

Abandoning her task of saving half-a-dozen souls, Lavenderkit skips across camp and looks towards the trio. "Can I have some reeds? The nursery is about to explode," and surely, the plant-life will help.
