Their last venture into the forest had been utterly chaotic, with the duo being confronted by that tall and burly molly that had joked about eating them. Bunny knew she was kidding, of course, or so he said to Teddy to continue looking like the tough older brother that he knew Teddy looked up to. Still, that molly had helped them find their way home, and that one cat in their twoleg neighbourhood kept talking about how "awesome" it was to be a "daylight warrior" --- whatever that meant. Bunny had started to notice them leaving early, after their twolegs were gobbled up by the monster and returning as the sun started to dip below the fences. Their bow dangling around their neck still looking perfectly in-tact, not a scratch on them.
Bunny didn't really care, their last venture into the woods had been enough for him. But Teddy would not stop talking about the forest and the forest cats, and Fettuccine just seemed to be putting more ideas in his head about how great it was. Teddy kept pressing his face against the barrier, moaning and groaning about going back and trying to find the same she-cat that had helped them before. Bunny managed to shut him down most days, with the small kitten sulking away to his palace.
But today was different. Their little twoleg skipped happily, dancing with the pair before filling their bowls and being gobbled up by the monster alongside the bigger twolegs --- much like their neighbours. Teddy was particularly persistent today, and not wanting to have the scrap getting scooped up by an eagle on his own, Bunny accompanied him again
There was snow littering the ground, cold and moist against Bunny's pawpads. He sighed as Teddy bounded along the snow piles happily, luckily after their last outing --- Bunny actually knew the way home. He would drag his brother back if he had to.
