Goldenroar is... well, he's feeling just fine! The day feels cooler in the shadow of the large grouping of trees they pass through to get here, the neutral ground smelling of every-which clan. Dandelionpaw is urged to try and pick apart the scent as they walk, his patrol mates hovering nearby. Hopefully they didn't stray too far. He didn't want to have to run after a warrior or an apprentice and rope them back into the job that he had set them upon. Thunderclan, as far as he knew, was neutral to them. The only clan that he knew Windclan was friendly enough with was Shadowclan. To him, though, that was just a clan of strangers with Dustystar's family as a leader. He's unsure if that really meant much. Still, he's respecting their wishes.

"We're here." He calls, nose lifting in the air as they approach the Thunderclan border. Not so bad, really- it smells of thick, tangled oak and rich of forest-prey that he's not so sure he'd be able to hunt. All the mousing inside the barn before it burnt was left to those less fortunate, so he normally strived to find harder things to hunt. Rabbit warrens under discarded piles of cut wood, birds that decided to land on the fence... so on and so forth. Still, the deputy could appreciate the smell, like a good buffet spread in front of them. "Let's say hi and head back." He tells the patrol, then turns his head towards Dandelionpaw. "What do you know about Thunderclan, Dandy?" He asks his apprentice, unaware of a danger lurking nearby....

// patrol prompt: Heading through Fourtrees was fine, but by the time you make it to Thunderclan's territory, there's a patch of nettles waiting for someone to trip into... If you want to roll a 1d20, and roll less then a five, then you fall into the nettles!

She tried not to think on it too hard, but the nearer they drew to Thunderclan's border the harder it was to deny: the world was big. If Aurorabeam wasn't careful, her mind could easily wander in contemplation of the vastness, drifting off like so much smoke in the night. What did these other clans do to fill their day? What set their paws into motion, their prey into bellies, their territories into safety? What, she asked, quieter than the other questions even in her own mind, made them happy?

Head shaking in a way that set the big, vast world into a momentary blur, the tabby forced the thoughts from her mind and focused on the patrol. The ground was less welcoming here, all leaf litter and roots that crackled and grasped as she walked through. It made her miss home, an aching feeling to which Goldenroar's words were a welcome balm. They'd already arrived and it was only a matter of time before they would head back. Aurora stood taller, eager to finish this patrol and return to one in familiar rolling fields - so that she could continue working, of course, not due to homesickness. Her maw twitched. "Do you know if they're talkative?" She asked, adding to the questions posed to Dandelionpaw and finding herself with a smile for it.

(🜲) windclan are not cats hazelheart has a particular problem with. truthfully she has not given them much thought beyond wondering about their burning barn moons ago. although her leader's requested to make friendly with the other clans, the earthen tabby has not sought out interaction. today, she pads through the forest with grizzlypaw by her side, nose twitching as they approach the border. it's supposed to be a regular old border patrol, boring almost, if it weren't for the small group of gathered strangers. "what can you smell, griz?" she prompts her apprentice, golden eyes gleaming with curiosity as they draw closer. a hefty looking ginger tom heads the patrol, his stump tail lifted high as it can go. he speaks to a cream and brown apprentice, and they are soon joined by a tabby she-cat.

stepping forth, the thunderclan storm guard dips her head to the patrol. "good morning," she offers, voice warm but guarded. "how fair windclan this fine day?" if hazelheart is being honest, she doesn't particularly enjoy the pleasantries exchanged during each border check, but if it is what must be done to maintain peace within the forest, she will follow juni's guidance. she scents the air, allowing delicate notes of heather and wind tossed grass to reach her as she watches the windclanners. "let's start marking, kid." the tabby blinks at grizzlypaw, then as if for example, rubs her cheek against a tree stump along the edge of the border.

a stocky, medium-haired brown tabby with hazel eyes. this is a large cat with a rippling musculature. hazel's frame is wide and tall, shoulders broad, muzzle and eyes heavy in her skull. chestnut and chocolate fur swirl across her pelt, sliced through with tabby stripes of shadow. her eyes invoke images of a sweet summer's day, honey and brown mingling into a soft amber gold
