Frostmoth has made it somewhat of a habit of wandering off on his own. Of course, he is a dutiful young tomcat. He makes sure that all of his T's are crossed and his I's are dotted, but once he's assured that everything is in order and taken care of he often makes time for himself. And that time is far from his clanmates, or even the few he considers to be his friends. The rainforest where RiverClan makes their home provides a lot of lush coverage to wander through, especially in the flourishing warmth of new-leaf. Though Frostmoth is not smitten with the rainfall, he has come to enjoy the warmth that the canopy of the territory seems to envelope him with.

Frostmoth is particularly attracted to the way the sun seems to beam down ahead of him, illuminating what seems to be a clearing in the thick foliage up ahead. He trots forward, curious about the break in the trees, and allured by the idea of having a potentially sunny spot that isn't near ThunderClan territory. The bicolor finds that he is nearly encircled by a large outcropping of thick-trunked trees. His white-tipped paws kick up the loam of the ground. It's a poor place to sunbathe, he thinks, but the clearing should still be useful to RiverClan somehow. This is their territory after all.

He glances over his shoulder, wondering if any others have come across this part of the territory or thought of a use for it thus far. He looks back to the clearing with its soft ground and open space, and leans up against the rough bark in thought.

Pineheart had suddenly remembered the canopy of trees, the clearing they hid, and upon realizing that his presence as council member wasn't needed, decided to revisit the place. Their territory stretches farther than eyes can see now, a stark contrast to the fleck of beach they'd occupied before. It was nice to have space. To have variety. His tempo is leisurely, ears flicking lazily when an insect buzzes too close for comfort. As he closes in on the space, he spots a familiar pelt among the grass, black and white fur a stark contrast to his surroundings. Frostmoth seemed to be thinking hard about something.

"I was considering suggesting this as a place to practice fighting," Pineheart says as he comes up to the younger tom. "The dirt is soft, and there's plenty of space. Adderfang suggested group training… it'd be good to do it somewhere like this."

He looks down at Frostmoth, considering him now. He is much younger, and certainly smaller, but nonetheless he was the… deputy. Whatever that means. He is young, inexperienced– like Pikestar himself. Perhaps that's why the other tom had chosen him. Still, Pineheart has no complaints. It's how the leaves had fallen, each into their own place. All that is for him to do is watch over them.

The ocean shores were far windier than the new forest they inhabited, but the river brought a warmer breeze than expected. It wasn't a sticky gust that rolled over the shore but certainly not the same bone-chilling wave the dug under her fur. Dogflicker was trying her best to adjust to this new world, for the sake of her family and herself. There was no going back to the shipyard after all and there was no better use of her time than finding the small pockets of the forest she could tuck into. Maybe there would be a place she, Coyote and Fox could hide out in.

There was the bridge overlooking the water not far from where she settled today, but the scent Pikestar warned as SkyClan's was too strong for her to feel confident there wouldn't be any trouble. So instead she had remained in the shade of some small patch of trees, looking around the moss-coated bark of awkward spindling branches. Dogflicker blinked as she heard the sound of Pineheart's voice not so far off and straightened herself up quickly, now knowing she was in the presence of a life guard.

Dogclicker peered around the thick trunk of the ash tree to see him talking to Frostmoth and wondered if she was listening in to some serious council business. The kind that wasn't for her ears, but she couldn't help herself, chiming in. "There is a bit of space here." Came her agreement as she took slow steps closer to the pair. "Should we put this place to the test, first?"

Though his mind is steady in its pondering, Pineheart startles Frostmoth out of his train of thought. He stumbles forward before turning awkwardly to face the lifeguard. He had forgotten that Pineheart and his patrol had been first to discover this glade, but he is thankful nonetheless for the discovery on his part. He shuffles his paws over the loamy soil. The proposition is a good one. "That's a good idea," Frostmoth remarks with a smile "You're right. This is a good place to train. There aren't many spots like this on RiverClan's territory. I'll bring it up to Pikestar, but I also have no issue with sending more patrols out here."

Frostmoth casts a glance over the glade. It feels awkward to have no guidance, and his words feel foreign and stilted- as if Pineheart should be the one with authority instead of him. And perhaps he should. But Frostmoth stands here now and instead has to think about the future of RiverClan, and he supposes part of that is bringing up training ideas to his leader and being a mouthpiece for the rest of his clanmates. Like Dogflicker, his mind wanders to SkyClan. They seemed well-organized, and probably ran rigorous training exercises. What would they do if SkyClan decided to no longer be just an ornery neighbor?

"Sure, I don't see why not," he replies to the warrior's question. He turns to face her. Their similar age and size leads the deputy to assume that she'll want to train with him, but he doesn't want to jump to conclusions.
