He has no doubts that his Clanmates feel the incessant itch to begin a chase, hopefully ending with claws and fangs sinking into warm flesh, thus providing the Clan with something decent to eat from tonight. Frostmoth had made himself clear, however: nobody is to rouse the easy peace that lives between RiverClan and SkyClan. It's too precious to give up for a few hours' worth of satisfaction. Bayhowl feels the deputy's presence more keenly than anything else—he had felt pride bloom in his chest at the notion of being tasked with leading a border patrol, but he can't help feeling like Frostmoth is here just to supervise.
Bayhowl intentionally steps on a frost-withered reed that had, more than likely, been tugged at and uprooted by wind from its original spot beside the nearest river. It gives a satisfying crunch underneath his paw. That's his cue to come to a halt, right beside the invisible line that divides their territories.
"Maybe it'll come back around."
