  • a wide fluffy black tabby tom with low white and deep scarring over his left eye that has left him blind in that eye. His right eye is a deep amber.

    Burly like his sister, Stagwhisper is a rather striking and muscular tom. While not quite as tall and wide as his sister, he still cuts quite a figure among his clanmates. His self-doubts and fear that he wasn't as good as his clanmates due to his disability has lead him to follow the path of a forager --- but he could still likely hold his own in battle if needed. His pelt pattern resembles his sister with more white, and a dark hue that seems reflective of his inner turmoil as a warrior. A dog attack in his youth has left him with deep facial scarring, as well as blindness in his left eye. His remaining eye is a crisp amber, like the leaves of fall.

  • Stagwhisper is a highly personable tom, once you get to know him. He is shy to a fault, having trouble talking to those he is unfamiliar with or doesn't know. He tends to stutter and stumble over his words when he gets nervous, and he especially struggles talking to those that have authority like his leader, deputy, and storm guards (other than his sister, Hazelheart). His suffix was given to him due to this, though he doesn't necessarily view it as a bad thing. He believes some cats say far too much, and that it is better to speak when spoken to instead of risking being judged for blindly stating an opinion.

    He is a friendly and courteous tom once you get to know him. He will always assist his clanmates in anything they ask, wanting to do his best to assist. He especially enjoys helping with nest building, and will always volunteer for this if needed. He is a very insecure tom due to his blindness and scars, thinking he is "hideous" and unapproachable. He likes to prove he can be useful to his clanmates. He covers that insecurity with jokes at his own expense.

    He has a particular soft spot for young cats, especially those he sees himself in (those who are insecure or nervous, or those that seem far too eager to please).

  • Stagwhisper's parents continued their travels after him and his older siblings decided to stay with the colony. Regardless, he is very close to his family that stuck around.

    Stagwhisper comes from a loving and large family, his parents had two litters before he was born. The first consisting of his sister Hare and (unnamed NPC), flourishing alongside their parents. The second litter consisted of Hazel, an only child. The final litter, quite a bit younger — a mistake perhaps, a happy accident; consisted of Stag and his littermate (unnamed NPC). They grew up alongside their parents, wandering cats.
    APPRENTICEHOOD
    OCT '22 - APR '23 x
    When Stag was six moons old, a dog bolted out of the bushes and grabbed the young tom before his family could react. He was gripped by the face, the dog's maw tearing into his flesh and ripping away fur and muscle. His father and older sisters managed to drive it off, their mother rushing to the young tom for comfort. Through the help of other cats, Stag managed to recover. Though, he was left with deep facial scarring and blindness in the eye on the side that he had been grabbed due to the trauma.

    The family thanked the colony that had saved their son, and while their parents wanted to keep wandering; Hare, Hazel, and Stag opted to stay with the colony. Hare admired the colony, reminiscing about how in her own time of need — before Hazel and Stag were born, when her tail was caught in a snare and she had been helped by those not in her family. Hazel met Bracken in the colony, the pair falling for each other rather quickly and soon enough, when Stag was nine moons old — his sister made him an uncle. Magnolia, Hyacinth, and Honeysuckle were their names. Despite not being much older than them, Stag tried his best to be a good uncle, especially seeing how no-nonsense their parents were.

    Hazel grew close to both Juniper and Sable, with her being especially close to Sable. However, the good could not last.
    WARRIORHOOD
    APR '23 - PRESENT x
    When Stag was 32 moons, Sable created a splinter group within the colony and caused an uprising. An attack ensued, with some fighting for Thorn and some for Sable. It resulted in the death of Bracken, and numerous others. His family was safe though, and when Sable and his posse were sent back to the pocosin — he opted to stay with his sister. They are visited by Starclan, the spirits of the dead — a life after death. It seemed like a fantasy, he would not have believed it if he didn't see it with his own eyes. Hawthorn is named leader, gifted with the name "Star". He goes by "Thornstar".

    Eventually, Thornstar is killed in battle — replaced by Juniperstar. Juniperstar is decisive, despite the hard choices she has ahead of her. She is pregnant, with the kits of Sable. A tom who is also gifted nine lives by Starclan. Her kits splinter away, some going to their father, Asterkit comes back with his mother — the only remnant of their once storied romance.

    Juniperstar takes her time, picking her council, gifting warrior with names. Hare becomes Harechaser, Hazel becomes Hazelheart and a member of Juniper's council, and Stag becomes Stagwhisper. Life has been largely normal since then, with him enjoying the company of his family. He was gifted with an apprentice recently, and he can only hope he does right by them.
