Fawnkit couldn't shake the feeling off, it kept circling around her like an annoying fly, swooping down despite her attempts to shoo it away. She kept lashing her tail and tracing her unsheathed claws across the rock she sat on, her fur bristling as she grumbled to herself. "Oh I'm so smart and strong and not at all annoying!!!" she sarcastically mimicked the voice of the culprit she couldn't get out of her head. "And I must go everywhere Fawnkit goes, to ruin her fun and instead make fun of her!"

She had tried to be nice to the kitten, but all he did was push her away with mean remarks, making her feel small and inferior. And then he would appear wherever she would be having fun, poking jokes at her expense or giving her mean looks. "Stupid Thornkit..."

Ever since he arrived, she had been having gloomy days, even when she tried to get her own revenge at him. His words would cling to her fur like fleas, making her itch and unable to sleep. Even now, she wasn't focusing, unaware of the cats around her, anyone who could have been listening to her grumbles. As if to spite her even more, a giant raindrop landed on her nose, splashing everywhere. This was just her luck! She looked up and noticed the sky had turned dark and gloomy. "Oh yes, even the clouds sympathize with me..." she lowered her ears, tail swaying from side to side angrily, and watched as the clouds sent down raindrop after raindrop, soon showering heavily on her pelt. But she did not care - this was just rain.

Oh she used to love rain! But now even that was ruined by Thornkit, for he would surely judge her and make her feel dumb for being happy and bouncing around the raindrops. Oh how she wished to run around, trying to catch raindrops and getting her paws dirty from the mud. Instead she just sat on her rock, fur wet all over, watching the rain with narrow, angry eyes.

"and this time, she won't be forgiving"
finding time to sit down and engage in something as harmless and lazy as untangling the knots in her fur had grown a little more difficult... so many of the clan's youth seemed to have minds of their own, an itch to get themselves up to trouble only made more alarming by the aggression with which their foolishness is returned. SkyClan still haunts the back of her mind like an insistent tick, a blood-sucking thing that steals the comfort of safety from her bones. Owlbark too, seems bothered by it still, tense and high-strung as ever.

still, when she notices Fawnkit stamping through the center of camp with a low-toned grumble, the molly can't help but wonder what someone so small must be so bothered by. what great horrors did she endure today? a delayed nap? a piece of prey not fat enough? the suggestion is amusing and so she decides to eavesdrop a little more sincerely to the young she-kit's woes. though... it isn't an issue of a disturbed nap she gripes about, but... Thornkit? the spotted tabby frowns, glancing towards where she'd last seen the young tom before turning back towards Fawnkit. she slumps under a sudden rain shower as it begins and Juniperstar can't help but feel saddened by her dismay.

"What's this I hear about not having fun?" Juniperstar approaches with a sympathetic pinch of her brow, stopping to take a seat by the pouting kit. "Did you say you were having issues with Thornkit?"

Fawnkit had not realised Juniperstar had heard her and she startled as the leader approached her. Not only was the rain obstructing all sounds, she had been too busy grumbling to notice anyone paying attention to her.

"Oh I..." Fawnkit started, unsure if she should snitch on the annoying tom kitten, or deal with it herself. But then again, Juniperstar had already heard her, hadn't they? Perhaps complaining to someone would be okay.

She puffed out her soaked chest angrily, as angry as a kitten can be at least, and punched the rock she had been sitting on with her paw. "Well! For one, he keeps making fun of me!" Fawnkit recalled the time she had tried to approach Thornkit for the first time. "I tried to befriend him, but all he did was insult me!"

She complained about how Thornkit would appear wherever she was and poke jokes at her expense, directly or indirectly. Her tail lashed as she remembered all the times she had attempted to avoid the kitten, only for him to notice her and say a mean remark.

She had gotten back at him once, by throwing a wet moss ball at him and Hollykit, and he had avoided her for the most part since then, but she wasn't sure if he wasn't planning some big revenge for her and she felt upset about it already.

She wasn't sure if Juniperstar was still listening to her, or if the rain was more interesting to the leader's ears, so she chose to conclude her complains. "He just appeared one day in the camp, grumpy and mean! Isn't that against the warrior code or something?" she, in fact, wasn't sure about the warrior code in the slightest, but she imagined being mean was against StarClan's wishes. It was mean after all!

"and this time, she won't be forgiving"
her brows lift with surprise at such great emotion so easily let loose... kittens had the luxury of doing that, didn't they? throwing fits... being loud in their anger, bold with their tears. "Oh my," they reply as Fawnkit goes about explaining the crimes committed against her. making fun of... what? that doesn't go explained but Juniperstar can't fault the emotional young she-kit for sparing the details. when the hurt was outside, it was easier to fixate on what the cause was than the way it made your belly flip with discomfort. "It's very nice of you to make the attempt, even if he didn't appreciate it much."

her gaze lifts to search the camp once more for Thornkit, wondering if she might be able to sit as a mediator and resolve this kittish spat, this ember of a rivalry waiting to burst into real flames. he has not poked his head out where she can find it though, so she turns back to Fawnkit as the summary details a declaration of the 'warrior code.' the spotted molly sighs, wondering what great headache SkyClan has imposed on them by suggesting that there is some mythical laws that apply to all cats. what kind of children would that create? ones that feared their every move, hoping their motivations wouldn't be misunderstood as a violation of those rules? "There is no warrior code, much less one that says grumpiness is against the rules. However... it was unkind for him to insult you when you were trying to be nice. I'll make sure to speak with him.. or at least get Serpentberry's attention about it. You can come get me the next time he starts being mean again, sound like a fair deal?"

This was good, Fawnkit thought, as she let the raindrops soak her fur. It would not fix everything, for she doubted Thornkit had any interest in reconnecting with her, and frankly, maybe she didn't either. But she let it all out, the skies echoing her own internal turmoil, thunder reflecting her anger, and the rain her.. other feelings. And her leader listened.

Fawnkit was too young the grasp the importance Juniperstar held in the clan, but she knew the leader was well respected and adored, and for that reason she was grateful Juniperstar had listened to her, despite the rain and despite her own duties. And getting Thornkit in trouble.. well that was a nice bonus for Fawnkit - she wouldn't want him to get scolded had he been nice to her, or even if he simply ignored her, but he chose to insult her even when she had not done anything to him, so she cared not for the consequences. He had it coming for him.

"Thank you, Juniperstar" Fawnkit dipped her head, in what she thought was a polite way, though her fur was wet and clung to her frame. Maybe she should go hide, before she caught a cold and made her mom worried about needing to stay in the medicine cat den with Serpentberry. And with Thornkit, Fawnkit realised with horror. No, this wouldn't do! There was no way Fawnkit was getting sick and assigned to the medicine den, where she would have to share a nest with the very kitten she had been complaining about! "Excuse me," she looked up at the imposing body of her leader. "I better go dry myself, before I catch a cold!"
