They were finally free of the med den, thank the stars. Near the end of her recovery Sagesong was beginning to get stir crazy. Being essentially nestbound for a moon and a half made the warrior miss even the more boring things such as border patrols. Today however they had snagged Mousefang as the warrior finished breakfast, all but dragging him along for a walk outside of camp.
Sagesong trots along a path of flowers taller than she is long, looking back at the other with a light laugh. "So," She purrs out. "You have an apprentice now! Are you excited?"
Back before Skyclan left the gorge, she had been surprised when Crowpaw was given to her to mentor when Mousefang was right there and perfectly capable of doing so. He was far more experienced, had grown up as a Skyclanner while they had simply drifted in after a bad storm. It had seemed unfair- especially when new kits joined the clan later and were apprenticed to others. The tom deserved a chance to pass on his skills, it was about time Hawkstar finally acknowledged him.
"If it had been up to me, you would have been given an apprentice moons ago. You deserve it."
