"S-stilldream?" His voice lacks its usual jovial edge, there is no spirited tone or laughter in his stammered cry for his mentor. Only a fearful uncertainty that he has not experienced before. To say Leafpaw was sheltered was drastically understated; this was his first time outside their territory-outside the camp itself, they hadn't gone on a single patrol yet before this gathering was announced and he eagerly wished to attend. He knew not what direction to go, what path to follow, he had glimpsed the ghost of his mentor briefly in the crowd slipping away before the lightning strike drew all his focus. He had never seen his father before, but somehow he knew, he knew the tabby with the eyes like a cloudless sky and burning sun was Thornstar. Awe overtook his fear, he almost didn't realize what was happening in the background amidst the noise and panic. Copper scent kissed his nose but he shook his head and turned to blindly run away from the crowd that threatened to swallow him and only once he was alone did he realize he was lost. ThunderClan scent lingered near but he saw no familiar faces, his mother had been near Juniperstar, she was on the ground - he didn't know why, and then...
"M-ama?" He calls out, as if the tortie would materialize with just her title summoned, as if she could guide him even though she wasn't there. The chocolate spotted apprentice stumbled as he spun in a circle trying to ground himself, trying to figure out the right direction, but there was too much noise, too much smell. Tears filled both forest green eyes, bubbling up thick and spilling over cheeks still soft and rounded with kitten fluff.
Takes place as everyone is leaving, after StarClan descended. If someone who is not SkyClan wants to take him home...
