In her time within WindClan, Rubblekit had noticed that there were quite a few pairs of cats that seemed happier being together than they were with anyone else, than they were being apart. She had a vague idea of what it was to love someone like that, told stories of how cats had come to find their mates, and so many of the stories mentioned how lost a cat felt, how alone, how sad, until they were able to get with their partner. All the stories seemed like magic, cats being able to be happy no matter what with someone by their side.

They gave her ideas.

Now the ideas might not have been smart ones - ones thought by the brain of a kitten usually weren't - but they were ideas nonetheless, and as she didn't really know better, Rubblekit thought they were the best ideas she had come up with - and would ever come up with - in her whole life. Carefully-placed pawsteps moved towards the medicine cat's den, ears pricked and eyes wide as head moved around the edges of the entryway to peek within, a small mew of "Dimmingsun?" breaking through the silence, paws moving the rest of the way so that she was fully in front of the entryway.

Upon seeing the other, words moved from her maw, "I think um, I think Goldenroar needs your help with something." Make it sound important but not like he was hurt, make it believable - was this believable? - and hope that the next step in the plan to make sure Goldy had a friend, make sure he was happy, would come to her if Dimmingsun came with her.

"Coming,"
comes the response from within the medicine cats' tunnel.

After just a few heartbeats, Dimmingsun emerges into the sunlit camp, eye peering down at Rubblekit. There are bits of leaves stuck in his fur; a good shake is all it would take to free himself, but he sees no point in it. He has gotten used to getting messy at times, especially when his nose is far too buried in his work to notice—quite literally.

The wayward bits of foliage are unfortunately not a sign of an abundant medicine stock. Dimmingsun had merely plucked these from the moor, some of which had gotten swept to him from other Clans' territories, and is now using them to their full potential. Some of the more sensitive herbs and flowers need insulation, he has come to find. Perhaps if he wraps those up tightly enough, he can postpone the inevitable death that will come with leaf-bare... he has no idea if his idea will work or not, but at least he can say he had put in the effort.

"Does he now?"
Dimmingsun muses, looking around camp for the familiar golden pelt that more or less matches his own.
"Did he tell you that?"
His words are not unkind. If anything, he seems to enjoy the act of trying to pull out the words or intentions that are lodged deep within Rubblekit's throat now.

Paws moved - left, right, left, right - as she heard the response from the other, the sign that he was going to follow, ears flicking once as mind raced for what to say next, but as he emerged from the den, asking his questions she couldn't help but pause for a moment. "Y-yeah he needs your help, mmhm!" She'd speak, trying to be sly though it would be obvious to anyone older than a kit that something was going on, though the question of what would still be left unsaid. When she was asked if Goldenroar himself told her he needed help there was another pause as cogs turned within her head. She could lie, say that he did, or she could admit that he hadn't, and, well, Rubblekit had never been a liar so- "Well... he didn't say he needed help, but I know he does, so we gotta go to him cause... yeah!"

There would be no more elaboration from the younger member of the clan as she moved on, paws carrying her - practically hopping really - towards Goldenroar. "Goldenroar!" She'd speak out the name, smile on her maw as the medicine cat hopefully followed behind, "Look! I got Dimmingsun, cause you two are both nice and you two can talk to each other and be friends!" A pause as she accidentally gave her plan away, but it didn't matter because she was doing good things here, very good things.

His head was mostly devoid of any troubling thoughts right now. He had just returned from a hunt- his paws aching and body slightly weak from exertion. The run had been good, a hare locked in his jaws. His fur was going to be messed up, this he knew, but Goldenroar didn't focus on it. He chuffed lightly to the other patrol mates as they split off in their own direction. He lays the hare on the freshkill pile, dutifully counting what was there. It tells him if he must exit once more. If he needs to take care of anyone else.

A breath leaves him, and it's seconds after that Rubblekit is calling his name. "Hmm?" Goldenroar prompts, turning his head with his vision down, expecting Rubblekit at that height. She was getting big, he lamented quietly. Her kithood moons already almost totally gone. He thinks, near tenderly, about his younger brother and sister, but the thought was swiftly replaced with another. Dimmingsun? Confusion briefly find his features and he looks up, aqua eyes skating towards the medicine cat. One that he sees fairly often, in council meetings, if he's bringing a sore paw, if an apprentice or warrior is sick- but it isn't just that statement that causes him to stiffen up.

Rubblekit is trying to... get them to talk to one another? "Oh? Be friends, huh?" Aqua eyes lift from Rubblekit to look up at Dimmingsun. Quite frankly, he found their size difference hilarious. Absolutely massive medicine cat, and a regular sized deputy. (Then, of course, Dustystar even smaller then him.) "What makes you think we aren't friends, Rubblekit?" Truthfully, Dimmingsun may not have heard about... Goldenroar's legacy.
