MEADOWPAW

The storm had dulled, but the medicine den was still damp and miserable. Moisture clung to everything and the humidity was giving way to a biting chill. Curled in her nest, Meadowpaw squeezed her eyes shut, tail wrapped tight around her shivering form. The cold gnawed at every bit of fur left uncovered, dragging her in and out of sleep.
Even the slightest scuff on the floor was enough to disturb her. Green eyes flutter open, vision warping in and out. By the entrance, a shadow shifted—too large to be Dimmingsun and too slim to be Talon. "Gorsepaw?" Meadowpaw rasped before pushing herself upright, blinking hard to focus the shapes.
It wasn't a surprise to find Gorsepaw sneaking out. She'd been trying to find a way out since the first day she set paw in here. But now it was wet, dark, and cold. A dangerous combination to set out in. Meadowpaw knew if she left tonight, she'd return with more than healing wounds.
A shiver jolted through Meadowpaw, her teeth clicking together. "Could you…" Her tail coiled tighter around her trembling sides. "C-could you stay? It's cold—I-I'm cold." That wasn't a lie. The only warmth she felt was the tingle of it on her cheeks. "Please? I don't want to… get sick..." I don't want you to get sick. She waits for Gorsepaw's answer or her rejection, breath fogging the air.
// It's not even that cold yet—greenleaf has barely left, after all—but you're freezing alredy. Wet fur clings to your frame, and you swear that the wetness is getting to your bones, too. Is there anyone willing to share tongues with you in this condition, or are you cursed to bear this on your own?

WINDCLAN MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICE 12 MOONS SHE/HER Meadowpaw values kindness and remembrance. As a kit, she internalized her mother's lessons, but questioned whether her way is the only way. She has broken free from the heavy burden of her mother's expectations due to their estrangement after the fire. She remains kind and soft-spoken through all she's endured, but is not afraid to speak out for what she believes is right.
Meadow works tirelessly at any task she undertakes, desperate to prove herself capable and worthy despite her disability. Without her mother's guidance, she finds new ways to express herself.
In conversations, she is gentle, thoughtful, and withdrawn, often hiding her struggles, fearing others seeing her as incapable. She continues to have a strong bond not only with her sister, but with her adopted family as well. Meadow uses her new freedom to support and deepen the bonds with her clanmates. Additionally, she has started to explore the more spiritual side of herself…
Her worldview is a complicated mix of hope and frustration. She wants to believe that there's hope at the end of all the suffering, but feels trapped by her limitations. With enough time and support, she may find a way to overcome her limitations and accept herself.
