(˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗) so it turns out things have changed since this morning. despite starlitpath's conviction that the dynamic between the two would not shift, that despite released feelings, their days would go on similarly, she now finds herself laying in a quiet corner of camp, tail draped loosely across the tail of the chocolate and flame molly beside her, both taking delicate bites of their prey. the warrior's heart beats so loud she's sure her companion will hear it, and although she's not afraid of that, there's still a level of awkwardness that crackles in the air. the sun hangs low in the sky, lighting it with soft fire, and the comforting scent of leaf litter and pine surrounds camp. clanmates are settling in to share tongues and eat after a long day, and starlitpath watches them. they all seem too casual, to at ease, and her own body is tense. she feels ready to fight in some way, but there is no enemy but gossip.

a pale tabby npc floats past, casting yellow eyes towards the duo, and a smirk crosses their face. starlitpath quirks an eyebrow, ears flicking as she urges them on with her mind. the npc flounces away, giggle on their lips as they go to spread the rumor - starlitpath and swarmswirl are twining tails. the calico sighs, bonking her head gently into her companion's shoulder. "they're talking about us," she murmurs under her breath, then takes another bite of her food. turquoise eyes flick around camp, finding each cat who glances their way.

  • // " #dcccf0" tagging situationship @swarmswirl but no need to wait! all the clan knows are the rumors - starl and swarm have been spending time together, swarm woke up in starl's nest a few times, and they had a confrontation earlier this day in which swarm sent starl's patrol away to speak in private.

Chrysalisgaze has missed a lot with her time being spent in the healer's den. She's missed Quailstep and Brightnose becoming new members of the council, she's missed a lot from Rain's litter's firsts and she's missed Swarmswirl's..... situation developing.
But whatever her condition, a sister always knew. She noticed the way Swarmswirl's ears would twitch awkwardy at the mention of Starlitpath, how her tail swayed slightly in their direction - she didn't need to tell Chrysalisgaze anything. The dark pelted sister understood.
Now looking at the pair lounging awkwardly together, sharing prey, Chrysalisgaze couldn't help but smile to herself - were her and Starlingtrail the same when they were younger? Shying away from other's gazes, awkwardly figuring out what to do with each other? Chrysalisgaze remembered being afraid of asking for commitment when nothing was a constant on their journey to these new territories. She remembered Starlingtrail's smile whenever she would bump her head with hers. And the awkward way they would intertwine their tails, worried that someone else was watching - though, after a while, they stopped caring if anyone watched. Theirs was all that mattered.
Tearing her gaze away from the pair, she couldn't help but purr - her sister, finally admitting to herself what Chrysalisgaze has known....well, for quite a while. And the same could be said for Starlitpath - Chrysalisgaze has grown up alongisde both of the pair, she knew how to recognise the signs of their emotions, at least for the most part. Now, despite the tenseness due to being observed, both cats seemed lighter, calmer, finally relaxed after tiptoeing around each other for moons. About time, she smiled to herself. Her own nest would be colder for it, but Chrysalisgaze didn't mind in the slightest. Her sister's happiness was one of the most important things to Chrysalisgaze and she would give anything to achieve it.
