She didn't know what had happened to Talon - she had not been there when he came back to camp, tucked safely in the nursery. She's only heard he was injured, bound to the healer's den not by choice, but by consequence. He had not seeked her out before and she had not seeked him, but... he had promised her they were okay. And if they were okay, she was to return the gesture.She had picked out a mole from the fresh-kill pile and held it in her jaw as she walked toward's the healer's den. She hesitated only a moment, not wanting to intrude on the medicine cats - but they were both out, or otherwise tucked somewhere away. Either way, they were not present, not for Yewkit to bother them.
Talon lay where he used to lay usually, even when he wasn't a patient in the den, just a resident by choice. It was as if that was his nest, claimed by the tom moons ago when he had first arrived. Yewkit walked up to him quietly, though not so silently as to scare him - just her usual silence, filled only by her shuffling paws and tail dragging along the floor.
Talon looked... bad. But Yewkit didn't shy away from his face after she dropped the prey down at his paws - she had stomached Fogstare's wounds and those were that much worse. Yewkit could handle these scrapes, even if she couldn't imagine the pain he must have been in and had gone through to gain these. His wounds were dressed in herbs only barely, surely due to the shortage of medicine after the flooding... the kitten's heart panged at the thought of it. If only she could have managed to save more of them... then again, she shouldn't have been there at all. That would have been the better result, she reminded herself. Talon and Meadowpaw would have been able to save more herbs, had they not worried about her.
She shook her head, chasing the thoughts away. She was here for Talon now, not for the memories nor for the guilt. "For you." she said, pointing her whiskers at the mole. Then she corrected herself, "For us."
