{$title} A special request for ptarmigan, can she complete it, or will someone catch her???

The voice reaches her ears, her paws quickly thudding to a stop. Gentle green gaze falls to one of their newest members (there's been a lot this past moon, but, the child was still new.) she had just finished dispersing patrols, and was ready to head out on her own when Ptarmigankit asked her for something to do. White toes pressed against white chin, lips drawing to the side in thought as she looked up, a long drawl of 'hmmm' escaped her lips before drawing herself down to the kittens height. "Well, I have a super duper special mission," she started, green daze darting left and right. "But it's top secret. Only us lead warriors know about it. So I dooontt know..." She pulled herself up right, again, looking left- then right.

"But you are good at secrets right? I mean... I heard you got all the way into Swallowbreezes den before anyone found you. That is really skilled- I think even more skilled than me." She let her words hang in the air, waiting for a response.

/// Flower is giving @Ptarmigankit a special mission! After she accepts, and Flowercloud reveals it (my next post) this thread will open and anyone can 'catch' ptarmigankit. I think for fun it'll be that the other has to beat ptarmigankits sneak roll if they want to decide to mess her up in delaying her or completely stopping her mission!

Ptarmigan had expected the suggestion of a game, perhaps. Flowercloud seemed just as pleasant as the rest of the cats, though held in a high regard as deputy and right hand to the king themself. So, as the rest of the clan was given patrols and tasks, she thought she would try a shot at requesting something to do, too.

But, instead, they were met with a softened tone and a sly smile, a secret mission! Cats of her old colony had been sent on missions, usually only when they had proved their strength and loyalty. Just the notion was enough to make the kitten light up in excitement. She was quick to dampen it, even if there was an undeniable smile as she looked up to the deputy with pride. "Mmhm, I'm super good at being quiet and sneaky."

Their eyes glittered. Although that night was still a terrifying series of events, it was true that they used every ounce of knowledge they had gleaned from watching the trainees when they had a moment to rest in camp to good use. But, then again, they hadn't used that knowledge since, other than to pounce on an unwitting beetle. Though if Flowercloud saw potential in them, they were determined to prove the deputy right. "I'll keep it secret, I promise!"

Flowerclouds face beamed in pride and delight as Ptarmigankit not only agreed, but promised back. Although she had tried to seem unsure to give the child such a huge task- ptarmigankit was eager to prove to Flowercloud she could be trusted. With a thoughtful look, and a beat of silence, the amber molly nodded. Tucked in her neck fur from an earlier hunt (but ptarmigan didn't have to know that), she pulled out a delicate blue jay feather gently with her teeth, and tucked it into the kittens cream fluff of her neck.

"Okay... If you insist. This feather is super important to Hawkstar, and our kind had unfortunately lost it," her voice saddened, a small shake of her head. "But I happened to find it! And I need you to deliver it to her nest. But the problem is- well, no one's allowed into her den without her permission and I wanted it to be a surprise. I'm much too big to sneak in there, so I think you'll be perfect for the job. But no one can find out what you're doing, or they may tell on you!" The deputy shook her bulky head, a long sigh escaping her. "I can try to do what I can to distract them, but I can't help everywhere. So if you really need my help, flick your tail like this-" she lifted her tail, and flicked it towards her head, a common signal to 'follow' or 'come here'. Because not only was she determined to teach the young mind something new, but also how to pick up common quiet language they spoke on patrols and ambushes as a warrior. "I will come down my best to assist you, okay? Think you can do it, little one?" She asked, offering a smile.

"And I promise there's a reward once you get back to me." She added in, thinking about the extra Flower crown Sagesong and her had made, that didn't have a home yet. She hopes it would fit on Ptarmigans head, but that can always be adjusted.

///This thread is now open! Ptarmigan is supposed to sneak a feather into @Hawkstar s den without being caught. Players may try to intercept her, but Ptarmigan must try to get them off her tail of knowing what she is doing. You may use rolls if you wish, and if so, a high roll than ptarmigans may grant some sort of obstacle. She has one use to call Flowercloud over to distract an 'obstacle'.
