Private SkyClan Krampus will come || Teaselpaw

This gorge left the fluffy deputy with her fur on end. She worried for her own, witnessing the voices already trying to lure Cygnetpaw away with the voice of her father. Her stomach curled at the idea that it would make her lose any of her young. Or any of her clanmates. Like a birdsong, it attracted them closer, threatening with claws of shadows to entrap their bodies.

The amber point walked with her head held high, green eyes filled with worry and fret as slowly it fell down. Instead she looked upon her paws, her lips in a tight grimace. How much longer, how long until we are safe? She wanted to ask, but it failed to resonate from her chest as instead she flickered her green gaze to Teaselpaw beside her.

"How are you feeling, are... You okay?" She asks her son, gently butting her head to his with a small murrp. They were far from home. And even she felt unsettled from homesickness. But this would be better. It had to be.

TEASELPAW

Over hill, over dale, through the valley and vale do not weep, do not wail, I am coming home to you

Teaselpaw walked quietly alongside their mother, their mismatched eyes wide as they scanned their surroundings. The fog hung heavy and suffocating, an unyielding shroud that seemed alive with unseen movement. Tendrils of mist curled and twisted, as if they sought to snatch them away forever. It wasn't true, of course, but to the young apprentice, who had never ventured so far from home, it felt all too real.

The gorge was far behind them now, left in the distance like a fading memory. Yet the journey stretched endlessly ahead, a path full of uncertainty and fatigue.

When their mother glanced down at them, her soft voice cutting through the silence to ask if they were alright, Teaselpaw straightened. They forced a brave face, even though the tension in their paws betrayed the truth. A small, reassuring sound, a quiet mrrrp, escaped them, and they leaned forward to offer a gentle headbutt to her shoulder.

For a moment, silence fell between them, broken only by the sound of their steps against the damp earth. Then, in a voice so soft it could barely rise above the fog, Teaselpaw finally murmured, " ...Scary... But a new home on the horizon... We'll be okay. "

The words were a fragile hope, spoken more to reassure themselves than anyone else.

It was rare to hear teaselpaw speak, but it was nothing but warming to her heart when they did. and they spoke with positivity, something Flowercloud tried to instill into them. She hoped they would have and maintain that positive outlook, despite the world sometimes seeming to crash and burn around them. They were each beautiful, or handsome, strong, and able- and she wanted nothing more than to just give them the satsifaction that her own mind denied herself. Even if she came off confident, when boiled down to it, she too, was scared.

"Me too... I am scared as well." She admitted softly, curling a tail to pull Teaselpaw closer, her darker ears flattening a bit. " But well be okay! As you said! Ill make sure of it." An oath that she spoke, a promise, something she wouldn't let down. Not this time, not ever again. She swore to protect her clan, but her family would always come first. She couldn't bare the thought of someone getting hurt or worse... if she wasn't there.

"You guys are so big now..." She murmured. She remembered when all four could curl up at her belly, and nestle in closer, or when they could climb on her shoulders comfortably. But now they were so big, so determined to walk on their four paws. It felt like just yesterday. Just yesterday, of them tussling about on clumsy paws.

TEASELPAW

Over hill, over dale, through the valley and vale do not weep, do not wail, I am coming home to you

Teaselpaw's mismatched hues lifted to meet their mother's gaze, their tail curling tightly around their small form. They tried so hard not to be scared, to push away the whispers of fear that tugged at their heart. Warriors were supposed to be brave, weren't they? And Teaselpaw wanted to be brave too. For their mama, for their siblings, and for themselves.

They couldn't let their fears burden their mother. Not now, not when she already had so much to carry. The weight of the journey was etched into her every movement, and their siblings' outbursts had only added to that strain. Teaselpaw could see it, even if she tried to hide it from them.

Pressing closer to her side, they let out a soft, gentle purr, the sound trembling with a quiet determination to comfort her. The vibration grew steadier, louder, as they squeezed their eyes shut and fluffed out their fur just a little, a small swell of pride filling their chest.

Mama thought they were getting b i g!

And they would be fine, wouldn't they? One way or another, everything would work out... They had to believe that.

But as the purr rumbled in their chest, a flicker of doubt crept into their mind. The memory of Flowercloud's tears lingered, and it made their heart ache. Slowly, their purr faltered, and a small frown creased their face.

With a quiet, deliberate motion, Teaselpaw lifted a paw and gently bapped at their mother's cheeks, their head tilting to the side. Their dual-colored eyes softened as they searched hers, a silent question shimmering within their gaze.

How are you, mama?

They didn't say the words aloud, but the question was clear in the gentle bap of their paw and the worry etched into their expression. No matter how small or scared they felt, they wanted her to know they cared.
