Dawn lay in the sun, soaking up the warmth amidst the air that was turning colder as the days went on. She wasn't starving nor was she full, but she focused on the feel of the world around her rather than the uncomfortable ache in her stomach which had been there for a while. Worrying about the dwindling prey that would only grow scarcer as leaf-bare approached, herbs that would not grow again until new-leaf, it would do her no good. Instead, she absorbed her surroundings, listening to the wind in the trees, distant birds and bugs, and the sharing of tongues by cats around her.
