Jinglemoon had gone out on the herb patrol alone this moon-- For the most part anyway. His niece, Twinklepaw had com along with this time but outside of her he hadn't requested any cat come with. They still could if they wanted to of course! He would never turn down more paws to help with collecting herbs but there was no pre-planned patrol to go with him.

In some ways the more silent collecting was soothing, serene even. Though the lack of the ongoing chatter that usually accompanied it left room for a sort of uncomfortable silence apart from the padding of their paws through the territory, the swish of grass and the running of their clan's namesake.

Seeing as for the moment it was just himself and his kin the blue tabby tom would twitch an ear before rummaging around a plant that had dark oval shaped leaves. He and Twinklepaw hadn't gotten to speak much yet about the new knowledge of that both her brothers were in WindClan and it had been itching away at him all the while. He wanted to check in with her and now seemed like the best time to do so where she knew she could speak her mind freely.

"So, Twinklepaw-" He began, screwing up his muzzle for a few moments at the bitter taste of the daisy leaves. "Have you been doing alright? Now that we know your brothers are in WindClan I mean" He paused a moment thinking back to when they'd first saw the two young toms again. How hopefully happy he had been to think they would come racing over the river to join them here...

"I've not given up on trying to bring them here home to us" He added in hopes of keeping her spirits hopeful still. Surely with them being kin the leaders of each clan must understand... "Or... Would you prefer to be there, with them?"

It had thankfully been fairly uneventful in Riverclan since that utter disaster of a gathering. Outside of the normal goings on and the curiousness of any new kittens of course. This was preferred, though Twinklepaw knew deep down that many cats were still feeling the aftermath of it. Herself? Hm. She wasn't sure. Dwelling on what happened wasn't going to do much beyond cause her mind to stagnate in negativity, thinking through what ifs wasn't productive and didn't help anyone heal- and to her that included the cat she knew as Adderfang. She just wanted everyone to be happy.

Which, to be fair, included herself. She couldn't begin to be or remain happy if she let those events hold onto her. So, she let them go. Maybe the flow of life would return her to finding a solution, but that would be for a future her to figure out.

Focusing on the present would be best. As such, in the present, Twinklepaw was spending time with her uncle Jinglemoon on a herb patrol! Riverclan's camp was nice, but some quieter time had benefits too. Twinklepaw used this excursion to practice recognizing more and more herbs. She had comfrey and stinging nettle on her mind but that'd only be because those were the last herbs she had picked up when she went out on her own little herb patrol.

Eventually the silence was broken, to Twinklepaw's surprise. "Whuh?" She blinked a few times before looking over to Jinglemoon. That's right, they had seen Comet and Eclipse recently, then Twinklepaw saw Comet at that disaster of a gathering. "I'm fine, yeah. Why?" She sounded befuddled that anyone would suggest that she might be anything other than that. "I'm happy that they're okay. They're tougher than you think." Of course, if there was anyone that would have faith in them, it was their sister. "Don't you and dad think about each other the same way?"

She could understand why Jinglemoon would want them to join Riverclan, but Twinklepaw also understood that they had their reasons for being hesitant, some noble, some superficial, but all reasons were purely those that her brothers would have. In some strange way that alone brought her comfort. "We can think of something that works for everyone, that's what I believe." As for her potentially going over to Windclan? "Nah. I don't want to do that. Like, see, if Comet believes that he has to be in Windclan and make sure Owlbear's kits reach at least warriorhood, then I have to be in Riverclan to see if I can help fix the broken ship that is Adderfang and Wavesong's family."

"Also, buddy system. Always go in pairs. It's safer." Always so bluntly honest, always truthful. Such was the T in Twinkle, for sure, something she would never lose.

"Well, I know how much I miss my own brother" He begun, "If he had of joined another clan though? I wouldn't know how to feel, especially one that isn't considered an ally to us" Or shared a direct border at that. "They're my brothers kits, of course I know they're tough" One ear would flick before he continued, "I also know how curious they both are, how strong headed and outspoken Eclipse can be, for better or for worse and how Comet can sometimes run first and think second" He hadn't exactly expected Twinklepaw to approach the topic with the same sense of responsibility that he felt for all three of them but he did expect her to at least miss her brothers. The trio used to be inseparable, they used to go everywhere together! "Your dad is kept safe in a twoleg nest and knew I was called to be here by the stars, you three could have stayed safely with him and your mother but he trusted me to keep all three of you safe"

Twinkle still by comparison didn't seem anywhere near as concerned as he was about it. Mentioning how she thought something that worked for everyone could be worked out and declining any idea of her going to WindClan to be by her brothers instead. Perhaps part of what upset him most about it all was that the three were growing up so fast, being separated from one another didn't bother them as much as he thought it would. Were any of them thinking about if their clans ever became hostile towards one another? If it had been WindClan that had raided their herbs instead of ShadowClan? One day it may be something they would have to face, but right now it wasn't a thought he wanted to place on his niece's mind. She was still just an apprentice even if she and her brothers were growing up far too fast for his liking. To Jingle they were all still the little kits that used to follow his brother around in a line like ducklings. Why couldn't Eclipse and Comet have been there the night Astro had entrusted them to go with him? It would've made all of this so much more simple.

"And what about afterwards? What then?" The blue tabby didn't really think it was Comet's responsibility nor duty to watch over another's kits-- He was still but a boy himself but if he thought it was something he needed to do, he wasn't going to take that away from him. If only he also understood that Jinglemoon felt the same way towards him and his brother. It was his duty entrusted to him by his brother to care for and look out for them. How could he do that when they were in another clan that didn't even neighbour them in borders?

"It isn't your ship to fix Twinklepaw, you were not the captain of that boat, you didn't steer it off course" Jinglemoon would sigh heavily though, he understood why she wanted to help try and fix it anyway and it was a noble thing to want to do but. It was a very complicated wreck to fix. "Promise me you won't go seeking out Adderfang, especially not alone. I know I can't talk you out of a quest you've given yourself but I don't want you going and getting yourself hurt over it" He did not believe Adderfang would hurt Twinklepaw, but she could get herself hurt in going out and searching for him. It was too risky, but even he hoped the other tom was alright wherever he was now. He wanted to help fix it too most days but it was a very delicate, fragile thing to fix. If not handled carefully it could break even further.

"It's even safer to go in a group" He pointed out before pausing... Squinting at a bunch of green and white flowers with petals that were in clusters, he sniffed at the plant but couldn't quite put a name to it. He'd circle around it once trying to think of the best way to collect something so unknown to him, or if it were maybe best to leave it-- But then, what if some cat ate it by mistake? He'd want to know what it did... He would collect it for now, carefully and placed it in the fur of his tail to be safe.
