Born from cats abandoned from ships when the docks shut down, RiverClan began with a strong bond- the former shipcats acknowledging early the need for a tight crew to get things done and they found themselves guided by a star like many a vessel upon the seas - moving inland lead by the cat chosen by StarClan for more bountiful waters and a place to call their own. Like their ancient ancestors RiverClan holds themselves proudly and elegantly and are quick to adapt to the new waters.

Listed below are the former High Positions of RiverClan, in each subsequent post will be a leader's entire term with each month in an accordion tab and a brief summary of them as a character and their notable accomplishments/plots etc in the main portion of the post. This list is in order with the most recent/current leader being the last post listed.

Pikestar is friendly, kind, naive, and a bit scattered brained. Even though he was thrust into leadership by the stars, he still has some reservations about their decision. He is inexperienced as he prefers to be in a position to follow rather than lead. However, he knows he must change in order to serve Riverclan well. Will he be a competent leader? Only time will tell.

JUNE 2025

RIVERCLAN JUNE '25 ANNOUNCEMENTS

PIKESTAR

"The council and I have discussed Riverclan's future. While it may come as no surprise, herb patrols will be made. However, we will be arranging patrols to the other clans as well. We will seek allyship with the other clans. Frostmoth will arrange the patrol groups soon."

Tensions continue to run high in RiverClan. It seems like much of the council is getting on well, but that their anger has a crosshair that lands right on Pikestar. It isn't just the council who feels the weight of conflict though, as murmurs ripple throughout the clan as to what the council should do to protect the clan moving forward. Patrols are organized and sent out, but it seems that not all of them turned how the way RiverClan had hoped. The clan remains divided.

​	The clans have not yet established a need for a gathering... perhaps this full moon they will come to a consensus...

Frostmoth organizes patrols to every nearby clan to establish relations and grant warnings about ShadowClan. There is a brief argument concerning sending apprentices to ShadowClan that settles once the patrols are rearranged.
Pikestar holds a meeting to address the raid from ShadowClan. The clan seems dissatisfied with his report, but they have no choice but to move forward.

The May council meeting following ShadowClan's raid devolves into a fight that still seems to be ongoing. Everyone leaves angrily, and there has been no resolution.
The first half-moon medicine cat meeting occurs with Jinglemoon and Rainpaw in attendance!

Peachtrot leads a patrol to ThunderClan to warn them about what ShadowClan has done. ThunderClan seems thankful but angered by this news.
Pikestar leads a patrol to WindClan to warn them about ShadowClan, but they are surprised to learn that WindClan and ShadowClan are allies.
SkyClan's medicine cat apprentice Swallowpaw comes to the border to ask for assistance from Jinglemoon in regard to a complicated case.
Frostmoth follows this visit up with his own trip to SkyClan's border to propose an allegiance of sorts between SkyClan and RiverClan
Wavesong leads a storytime in camp with a clear warning that conflict leads to destruction

Torrentpaw, Frostmoth, and a SkyClan apprentice named Stonepaw fight off a wild dog that chased Stonepaw into the territory.
Russetfall leads a patrol to ShadowClan that does not seem to be going well thanks to the antagonistic nature of their enemy...

MAY 2025

"Shadowclan. Whatever herbs you have now, you will return to your home with only those. Don't try and take more. The instant you try, we will tear you apart. The only reason why you live now is because of the children you brought here."

RiverClan continues to establish order within their clan, developing pieces of culture such as diving, reed weaving, and decoration. Several parts of the territory have also become landmarks! It seems as though there are more clans in the area than they had been anticipating, but the good nature of RiverClan leaves them unperturbed by the presence of other groups nearby. Apprentices have been assigned mentors and RiverClan seems to be thriving. However, there does seem to be conflict on the horizon; the previously seemingly flighty ShadowClan has staged a raid of supplies on RiverClan's otherwise peaceful territory...

Frostmoth announces many mentor-apprentice pairings after a long meeting with the council.

During the establishment of mentors Jinglemoon takes on Rainpaw as his apprentice, making her RiverClan's first medicine cat apprentice!

Wavesong is expecting kits!

The council comes together to discuss a need for apprentice-aged cats to be assigned a warrior to teach and mentor them

A patrol has a friendly run-in with a ThunderClan patrol at their shared border
Still getting used to the rainy conditions of their territory, a heavy downpour causes damage to the warrior den that needs emergency repair
Some RiverClanners take some time to relax and dive for some treasures.
A strange ThunderClanner is caught trespassing

ShadowClan's medicine cat Cicadabuzz lead a herb raid on RiverClan's territory in the dead of night. Although it was intercepted by a patrol lead by Frostmoth, there's no telling what the outcome could be...

APRIL 2025

"Oh! I'm not gonna start a fight or anything like that. As long as you stay on that side, then we won't have a problem."

​	Happily settled in to their new territory at last, Riverclan's past month is thankfully full of mundane, every-day things for these river dwellers. The stars align event proves that they are not the only ones beckoned forth by the Stars call... And hopefully their new neighbors are friendly!

​	There is not yet a time and place to meet amicably between clans.

Foxtail departs from Riverclans council, dearly missed as a voice of input, but the Clan forever grateful.

A run in with a Shadowclan patrol proves to broaden their horizons, and their borders.

Maremane and Tinytail from Windclan stumble in to a Riverclan patrol, which are quite divided on how to handle the situation.

Frostmoth and Stormswirl quarrel as siblings do.

Hazecloud gives birth to four lovely kits, accompanied by Lichentuft and Smokewreath.

Adderfang takes the kits out to explore something called sunset meadows, giving the queens a well needed break and taking more of their territory in with stride.

MARCH 2025

"My name is Pikestar. I was not part of the few you have met, but I am thankful. Thankful that none of you harmed any of my friends when we unknowingly trespassed your lands. My friends were able to pass on the message that Juniperstar wanted to speak to me?"

The newly formed RiverClan begins to settle into their territory rather nicely, though after meeting their two new neighbours of SkyClan and ThunderClan it's decided that border patrols are a must. The Ash Glade is discovered during one of these patrols and is then decided to be the perfect spot in the territory for battle training due to its space and distance from the camp, it's discovery comes at just the right time as well as RiverClan is still wary of their SkyClan neighbour after Pikestar's first run in with Hawkstar. In hopes of keeping matters amicable between them and their other neighbour, ThunderClan, Frostmoth leads a patrol with Pikestar whom Juniperstar had wanted to speak to after having met RiverClan last moon.

Pineheart's patrol discovers the Ash Glade during their border patrol!
The Ash Glade is explored further and suggested as a good spot to practice fighting.
Adderfang holds a mass battle training session at the Ash Glade.

Hazecloud moves to the nursery in preparation for RiverClan's first camp-born kits!

Frostmoth's border patrol meet with ThunderClan along the border of their territories in hopes of having the leaders of both clans meet as requested. Pikestar also brings gifts for Juniperstar in the form of a flower crown and a shiny rock.

FEBRUARY 2025

RIVERCLAN FEBRUARY '25 ANNOUNCEMENTS

"I made the mistake of overwhelming you all. I admit that, so this time I'll do better." I promise you all. I'll do my very best.

Following the collapse of the shelter in which many of the shipyard colony made their homes a scouting patrol is sent out and ultimately brings the shipyard cats back to their ancestral home, establishing the recreation of RiverClan. Here, the first meeting as a newly formed RiverClan is held, and Pike recieves his nine lives and is named Pikestar as RiverClan's leader! Similarly, a StarClan cat appears in Jingle's dreams, naming him Jinglemoon and assigning him as medicine cat of RiverClan. Much of RiverClan is still grappling with their new way of life and identities. Even so, they have made contact with two neighbors: SkyClan and ThunderClan. In the wake of this and the establishment of RiverClan culture going forward, Pikestar names Frostmoth as his deputy and Adderfang, Peachtrot, Russetfall, Pineheart, Foxtail, and Pigeonpearl to his council as Lifeguards.

Leechpaw has gone missing after Rosepaw is saved from drowning. Adderfang takes charge in initiating a search party to bring Leechpaw home.

RiverClan runs into SkyClan, both clans having been previously unaware of each others' existence. Although they walk away with no bloodshed, the meeting is still tense. RiverClanners are not to trespass on SkyClan territory under any circumstances.
RiverClan and ThunderClan meet one another at sunningrocks. Though amicable, Juniperstar still requests to meet with Pikestar and that RiverClan stay off their territory.

JANUARY 2025

RIVERCLAN JANUARY '25 ANNOUNCEMENTS

"If that isn't enough proof to you that no one gets left behind, then I promise you. I promise I won't let you get left behind."

The shipcats continue to struggle on the abandoned docks, some rogues turning to desperate cannibalism in their battle to stay alive. One of the last shelters remaining for the ship cats collapses in the night, injuring several and killing at least one cat. Pike receives a dream from an ancient spirit who claims to be a StarClanner and that they have chosen Pike to revive RiverClan from the ashes of the shipcats despair. Seabriar, the StarClanner, encourages him (with a lot of patience) to take the group inland to a place to settle.

Dewdrop dies in the shed collapse. The shipcats gather to say goodbye in the aftermath.

In the aftermath of the shed collapse, Downy complains that the forest cats seem to have it good now after their war. Smoke calls out and insists they leave. Several cats agree but its not until Pike speaks up and encourages them to go inland is a plan formed and a scouting party is prepared.

Willow, Wave and Peachy go to confront Heather for abusing her kits and refusing to leave to safety.

The scouting party consisting of Pike leading and Adder, Willow, Peachy, Downy and Bay arrive in the old RiverClan territory and make their way to the heart of the clan's former camp.
