Luckily, things were starting to go back to somewhat normal, so Ripplemist had slipped out of camp to take a tour about the territory on his own. His feet practically flew over the grasses, laughing as the wind flowed alongside him. This was what life was all about - freedom and the great expanse of WindClan territory. He couldn't fathom his sister's decision to spend so much time down in the dirt!

    Ripple was born in a barn - not the one he would later call home, but another, filled with numerous siblings and a steady mother. He never knew who his father was, and he didn't particularly care. He loved his mother and siblings and the warm sun-soaked boards of the barn... Most of all, he loved Weasel and he loved running. One night, their barn burned - their siblings perished, and their steady mother was nowhere to be found.

    Ripple and Weasel, the only two survivors, traveled together, and Ripple came to know her as a sister. That's what she was and what she always would be to him. For a time, they stayed with the molly Vesper - Vesper, who soon bore Weasel's kits. Vesper, who didn't speak to Weasel the way Ripple did. One night, she struck Weasel. Ripple, not a born fighter, struck back, earning a scar across the bridge of his nose. They left - as important as his unborn niblings were to them both, Weasel's happiness was more important.

    After fleeing Vesper, Ripple and Weasel found a new barn to call home, and new cats who treated them both with care and acceptance. It was here that Ripple grew, constantly admiring and proud of his sister, and making his own connections and friends among the other cats of the Barn. It was here that he learned how to be part of a family, such as finding himself entertaining kits alongside the other residents of the barn.

    Ripplemist, as he became known after the second barn fire of his life, became a loyal warrior of WindClan. His passion led to him taking on the role of a moor-runner, and he used his speed to traverse the territory - often helping Clanmates who'd gotten into sticky situations. As he grew, his affections bloomed for other cats in the Clan, and he found himself noticing the attractiveness of many Clanmates and newcomers alike. On a foggy day in leaf-fall, Ripplemist faced his fear of ghosts - only to find that the ghosts were nothing but members of a neighboring Clan.

    Ripplemist continued to enjoy his time as a moor-runner, especially when it came to spending time with the others in his specialty. He learned that even his speed wasn't enough to beat everyone, as he lost a friendly race he organized! Among these fellow moor-runners, Ripplemist grew closer with Hollowmumble and Jaypaw as the two helped him out of his own sticky situation. Ripplemist's time as a moor-runner became shaken after the death of Molewhisker. His sister was the one to find the late tunneler, but Ripplemist was assigned to the ill-fated patrol which moved to strike against SkyClan.

    During this battle, Ripplemist found himself facing the SkyClan warrior Maplemouse - while Ripplemist had stolen a mouse from SkyClan's territory, the other cat was willingto hear him out on WindClan's reasoning for the attack. Due to this conversation, Ripplemist began to truly question the wisdom of the patrol he'd joined - upon their return, he reassured his sister that he was safe, even if his mind was reeling. He sought out Hollowmumble to apologize for not speaking up alongside her before the patrol set out, and he explained his interaction with Maplemouse. As fate would have it, not long after this conversation, he met Maplemouse once more at the SkyClan border.
  • Ripplemist has only maintained a relationship with one of his kin - his sister Weaselchirp. He has long been one of her most staunch defenders, and while he would have loved to see her kits grow up, his love for her outweighs most anything else.
