Magpiepaw is not dissimilar to his former mentor in that he is very blunt and forward in his way of speaking, not mincing words and speaking honestly even if the truth is harsh and hurtful - he does, however, have much more empathy than Cicadabuzz did even if he struggles to show it in a meaningful way leading cats to think him just as cold and unsentimental at times. He prides himself on being studious, taking the time to understand things even if it's something as mundane as the source behind insignificant injuries where his mentor would dismiss the cause to focus on the effect. Despite not seeming so, he is a bit of a chatterbox and enjoys talking, happily sharing his knowledge and listening to others in aspects he is unfamiliar with: the love of learning is strong in him, almost to his own detriment as he will often be too experimental.
He is very proud of his duties, takes his place in the clan seriously and demands the same respect any warrior might have, his patience is not endless but he is often more willing to allow himself to be bothered by the kits of the clan than the adults.

DEN DESCRIPTION

The ShadowClan medicine cat den is nestled beneath the thick, gnarled roots of an ancient, half-dead tree, its entrance concealed by a curtain of brambles and thorny undergrowth. The air within is cool and damp, carrying the faint scent of herbs and rich earth. Beneath the natural overhang of the roots, the den remains well-sheltered from rain and wind, its narrow entrance ensuring that only those who truly need aid dare step inside.
Every aspect of the den is built for function rather than comfort. The main chamber is a space of quiet efficiency, its packed earth floor softened by a layer of pine needles and moss to keep the ground dry. A smooth, flat stone at the center of the space serves as a treatment area. Nearby, a small hollowed-out log holds fresh moss soaked in water, ready for patients in need. The patient nests are arranged in a neat row along one side of the den. Magpiepaw's own nest is tucked away toward the farthest wall, where his mentor's nest once was, out of the way but positioned where they can still keep an eye on their charges. Should they ever take on an apprentice, their nest would be nearby - positioned directly next to his. A narrow tunnel at the back of the den leads to a hidden exit, a practical feature for emergencies or moments when solitude is needed.
Everything is in its place, kept strictly organized to Magpiepaw's standards per how his former mentor kept them - he is not inclined to change how things are though he does add more personal touches than keeping everything bland and uniform. Along the den walls, shallow hollows have been meticulously scooped out and reinforced with woven twigs, each one filled with carefully sorted herbs. A raised alcove toward the back of the den, insulated with dried moss, houses rarer and more sensitive herbs, kept dry and undisturbed. A small dip in the ground by the hidden exit serves as a discard pile for spoiled herbs, to be cleared out regularly. Some of the shelves are decorated with beetle shells, bones and other various trinkets.
